🖤💛❤️ National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children's Day💙💚🤍

Today we celebrate the strength, culture and future of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.

The 2026 theme, Living Our Truth, recognises the importance of truth-telling, cultural identity, community connection and the passing of knowledge from Elders to the next generation.

Our children are our future leaders. Today we celebrate their voices, their stories and their bright futures.

🖤💛❤️ EVERY CONVERSATION MATTERS. EVERY CONNECTION COUNTS🖤💛♥️

For years, this vision has been growing – shaped by collaboration, commitment and a shared desire to create meaningful connections with community. Today, we’re proud to see our Allied Health professionals wearing these Aboriginal-designed shirts, bringing that vision to life.

More than a uniform, these shirts are a visible symbol of respect, cultural pride and our commitment to creating culturally safe healthcare environments. As our staff wear them across hospitals, community health centres and services, they create opportunities for conversations to start, stories to be shared, and connections to be strengthened with our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members.

This project represents years of partnership, planning and passion. Seeing these designs out and about on our health workers is a significant milestone – one that reflects our ongoing journey towards better health outcomes through trust, understanding and cultural responsiveness.
