We are a Volunteer Fire Brigade committed to protecting the community. Patterson River Fire Brigade commenced operations as an integrated Fire Brigade on 27th March 2006 after the amalgamation of Chelsea and Carrum Fire Brigades. We are committed to protecting the community. We do so much more than attending fire calls. We respond to assistance calls for motor vehicle accidents, wildfires, structu

re fires, chemical spills and more. We also provide valuable education to the local area on fire prevention and safety procedures. We also enjoy many community activities including attending school fete's and other events. We are also known to help Santa fulfil his duties around Christmas time. As you can see we are rather busy and always looking for more Volunteers. If you are interested please message us on messenger

Today's warrior taking part in next Saturday's Melbourne Firefighter Stair Climb is Cam!

"I joined the CFA because I love giving back to the community. My parents bought me up through Scouts and I think that's what has driven me to continue giving back. I've been with the CFA for almost five years and next Saturday will be my second time doing the climb.

I'm doing the Stair Climb as I want to raise money for mental health services as everyone deserves to be heard and listened to. I also want to push myself to beat my previous PB from last year.

Help Cam raise money for vital cancer research and mental health below πŸ‘‡πŸ»

We're super proud of our members taking part in this year's Annual Melbourne Firefighter Stair Climb, taking place next Saturday 12 September 2026.

Now in its 13th year, our firefighters will be climbing 28 floors of the Crown Metropol carrying 25kg of gear and BA equipment! What a feat!

Funds raised will go towards vital crisis support services and cancer research.

Keep your eye out on our page over the next week for a feature on some of our members who will be taking on this amazing task!

Welcome to spring!

After shivering through three months of winter, we're close to no-coat weather.

While our emergency services across the state are busy preparing for the high-risk weather season, it's time for you to start preparing as well.

Summer will be here before we know it! β˜€οΈ

This week's training saw some of our members take part in a mock Strike Team scenario down in Seaford to prepare for what could be real-life in the upcoming season.

Participants were asked to prepare an overnight bag, listen to and give crew leader briefings and were assigned various tasks, such as patrolling areas and protecting assets (buildings).

On Friday 21 August 2026, some of our members headed down to Mount Eliza to take part in the torch parade for Mount Eliza's 90th Anniversary.

Joined by brigades from around the south east including Frankston, Langwarrin, Edithvale, Springvale, Somerville and, of course, Mount Eliza, members marched from the 1st Ranelagh Scout Group through the streets of Mount Eliza lead by the Mornington Secondary College band, and concluded at the footy oval.

Many thanks goes to the Mount Eliza community who walked along with us and cheered us on, with people clapping as we passed.

What a great night to be part of! Thanks Mount Eliza CFA for having us!
