** PUBLIC TOILETS CLOSURE - RENEWAL WORKS **

Council advises that the Crawford Square public toilets will be closed from 15 June 2026 to allow for refurbishment works.

These renewal works are necessary to ensure the public amenities remain safe, hygienic and accessible for residents and visitors into the future.

The refurbishment is expected to be completed in four weeks, weather and construction conditions permitting.

During this period, the Lions Farmers Market will be temporarily relocated to the Casino Drill Hall.

Council appreciates the community's patience while these improvements are completed.

** THANK A FIRST RESPONDER DAY **

Today, we recognise and thank first responders across the Northern Rivers for the care, courage and commitment they show our communities every day.

From emergency response and recovery to the vital work that often goes unseen, your efforts make a real difference when it matters most.

We also acknowledge those supporting recovery behind the scenes — energy and telecommunications crews, evacuation and housing teams, and welfare officers whose work helps keep communities connected and resilient.

This work is not taken for granted.

It is seen. It is valued. And it matters deeply.
