Tomorrow Friends of CAM invite you to a conversation with Arkeria Rose Armstrong on Sunday 19 July at 3.30pm at Castlemaine Art Museum.

Arkeria Rose Armstrong is an Aboriginal artist of the Gamilaraay, Bigambul and Yuwaalaraay nations who now lives in Castlemaine on Dja Dja Wurrung Country. Her work bridges story, culture and healing in striking ways.

Arkeria originally trained as a teacher and is now a full-time artist. Her work has exhibited locally, nationally and internationally. You can see her work locally at Gabirra Gallery.

Her creative practice explores identity, connection to Country and cultural continuity, drawing on family histories, Indigenous mentors and extensive travels across Australia. Her art is rich in symbolism and personal narrative. It is distinctive and reflects generations of artistic influence and a lifetime of lived experience, resilience and cultural expression.

Come along to hear Arkeria discuss her artistic practice, inspirations and contribution to the local arts landscape.
