Spotting Greater Gliders in the Wombat Forest last night with Ellen Sandell MP and Wombat Forestcare was an incredible experience!
We found quite a few of these beautiful creatures. While they were too high up to easily photograph, seeing them in their natural habitat highlights exactly what is at stake.
This spotlighting took place in an area marked pink on the map—a zone which is currently State Forest. With so many greater gliders calling this area home, we need to upgrade these zones to Regional Parks to ensure their critical habitat isn't destroyed by future exploitation.
Meanwhile, the areas marked green are officially set to become National Parks on October 8. While this is a massive win, the Victorian Government has allocated zero budget for its management, in addition to cutting funding for Parks Victoria. A park on paper won't protect our wildlife without proper funding for conservation.
The Greens will keep fighting for full funding and total protection for the entire Wombat Forest. 💚

Heartbroken but deeply inspired after spending time at the Harcourt community lunch today. 💚

This is a community that has been burnt in so many ways—by last summer’s horrific fires, by restrictive council regulations, and by Labor’s broken promises.

I met so many incredible locals, including Ben (pictured here). Because of a health condition, Ben can’t drive, meaning his daily life is constrained by a schedule of just three buses a day.
Right here in Harcourt, we have a train platform. Trains whiz past constantly. If they actually stopped, Ben—and so many others—could easily get to appointments, school drop-offs, and neighbouring towns like Castlemaine or Bendigo without being forced into a car.

A train stop for Harcourt was actually promised a long time ago by Labor MP Maree Edwards. It’s yet another promise left unfulfilled while regional Victorians are left stranded.

Worse still, I heard devastating stories from residents who lost everything in the fires, only to be blocked from rebuilding their homes due to changed council regulations.

Harcourt has been doing it incredibly tough, which makes community spaces like this weekly lunch an absolute lifesaver to connect, recharge, and support one another.

The Greens won't look past regional communities. We need real investment in regional public transport and fair, supportive pathways for disaster recovery.

OUTRAGED: Our native wildlife is under threat in Bendigo.

Northern Victoria MP Gaelle Broad recently tabled a petition in Parliament calling to relocate the bats from Rosalind Park. Moving this camp is a dangerous and misguided demand.

As Central Victorian Bat Alliance member Avery Barnett-Dacey highlights, grey-headed flying foxes are not dangerous. They are a species vulnerable to extinction, facing declining numbers and extreme threats from climate change, including mass mortality events during heatwaves.

The Greens recognise our native wildlife as sentient beings with intrinsic value. We must advocate for strong legal protections of flying foxes instead of forcing them out.

Let’s protect our flying foxes. 🦇💚

Three months until the election, and Bendigo West is already turning Green Thanks to our incredible volunteers, 20% of our yard signs are already up and visible across the community.

While Labor, the Liberals, and One Nation don’t even have House of Reps candidates, our team has been on the ground campaigning hard since December 2025!

We have a powerful opportunity to make history in Bendigo West, but we need your help to keep this momentum moving forward. Let's make our presence undeniable.

Can you help increase our visibility? Sign up to host a yard sign and show your support for a fairer, greener community. Head to the link in the comments and my bio to order yours.
