SANTA IS COMING TO TOWN

We will again be taking Santa in our fire engines to check out the local area this year.

Starting at the Nords Wharf Fire Station at 11:30 on Sunday 18th December he will travel through Nords Wharf then Cams Wharf, Raffertys and Murrays Beach.

Children need to be under the supervision of an adult at all times.

Santa will give a bag of sweets to children and will be checking his list on the way.

Should anyone wish to make a donation to the Brigade there will be crew available with appropriate containers.

We are so looking forward to seeing everyone again and will try to post where we are during the afternoon.

On Christmas Eve we will also be travelling through Catherine Hill Bay starting about 16:00 from Middle Camp.

Middle Camp Survey
Some would have received this in their letterbox. Sharing this for those who may not have received. Here is a link to the survey for the new development of middle camp - the closing date is 26th March. There is a drop in session open today for those that would like to attend

Some items to consider with responses
- Heavy truck movements (restrict to the north)
- The last remaining building of the mining period , the workshop building , should be retained and protected during the preparation of Hamlet B
- Joe Warren, the protected tenant, in Hamlet A should be allowed to remain undisturbed.
- the clearing of land too close to Flowers Drive for Hamlet A. 15m allowance with bushland kept intact to retain the natural entrance.
- There must be timelines set for the building of the Heritage Walkway/bicycle track

First CWG meeting held 9th February - Update
There are 10 members from the community who are on the committee and working with council and their consultants, it was a very positive meeting.
• The first meeting included getting to know each other of the committee members who are all very passionate about the community.
• Council shared the proposed timeline for the project which is available on the website - https://shape.lakemac.com.au/chb. The concept plan is currently behind target and we are awaiting advice on when this will be available.
• The committee discussed the key items that need the greatest improvements which included
o Safety of road ways/parking
o Surf club upgrade
o Community Facility
o Parks for children
o All recreational facilities to be within the heritage area so will need to have approval from the Heritage Office
• The council provided feedback on the initial consultation outcomes and that 10 other groups have been consulted, consultation includes, surf club, developers on land parcels, national parks and wild life, CHB Progress Association, and others
• The Council have indicated that the input and feedback they have received from all sources is very consistent with their thinking on what is required
• The next meeting isn’t scheduled until April, when the CWG will assist Council in incorporating feedback from the first concept plan into the Master Plan (see timeline at above link)

Will keep the community up to date as more information becomes available.

This round of consultation has now closed. Thankyou to everyone who contributed. The project team are currently reviewing all feedback and will report back in early 2022. Help us shape new master plans for the Catherine Hill Bay Surf Life Saving Club and Middle Camp
