Last Sunday, we had the pleasure of hosting Baklava and Blintz! 🎶

🎻The auditorium was filled with people ready to hear stories, enjoy the music and celebrate the rich traditions brought to life by Saray Iluminado and The Klez Dispensers Down Under.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along, and an extra special thanks to those who got up and had a dance in the aisles!

With summer just around the corner, we've got plenty more to look forward to, including Groove and Graze, Diwali celebrations, and our Pop-Up Rolling Shows at local markets.☀️🎉🍦

CANISHA 🎵

What do you like about performing at a community music event like this?

“I love meeting new people, watching all the families and kids enjoy the day. I love bringing my family along to these community events too! The food is always a bonus!!!”

What style/genre of music will you be performing, and what can the audience look forward to?

“I would say I am pop with a little soul flavour. I’m always just up there on-stage having fun with my band.”

Sally Ford and the Idiomatics 🎶

What do you like about performing at a community music event like this?

“We play a lot in hotel and music venues which often attract a limited audience demographic - depending on the nature of the venue and/or location. Playing a community festival is fantastic for the band as we get to play to all-comers, regardless of age or background in a relaxed and open environment.”

What style/genre of music will you be performing, and what can the audience look forward to?

“We like to think we take an audience on groove-driven electro-acoustic adventure. It’s lushly arranged, all original music influenced by Latin, ska, soul, ambient music and electronica but with the strong melodic overlay of Sally Ford’s wryly observed lyrics. We call it “Deep Melantronica”. Intrigued? Come and have a listen.”

Live Sunday Sessions with Double Bill: Emma Yue and Alisya Rae

This month, Live Sunday Sessions welcomes not one, but two incredible performers for an afternoon of live music. 🎶👥

Emma Yue | 2pm ⭐️
Naarm-based indie-folk artist Emma Yue blends folk-pop and indie rock with heartfelt storytelling, relatable lyrics and a healthy dose of mid-20s chaos.

Alisya Rae | 3pm 💫
Naarm/Melbourne-based and internationally raised, Alisya Rae creates soulful R&B powered by rich vocals and empowering songs of heartbreak and resilience. As triple j's Claire Mooney puts it, her music will have you “dancing/singing like your soul depends on it”.
