The purpose of this page is to keep you up-to-date with Central Cessnock's
related activities and events, and to share fire-related information. This page is managed by the Central Cessnock brigade volunteers. We’ll do our best to respond to you within 1-3 business day

Central RFS monthly fundraiser Carwash/BBQ/Cake stall is back once again this Saturday 🚗🚕🚙🛻

Pop on down and see the team to get your car washed, buy a snag or a cake and support your local volunteer firefighters.

🗺 Where - Central-Cessnock Rural Fire Station, 53 South Ave Cessnock ( Beside the Cessnock District Rescue Squad - VRA Rescue NSW)
⏱ When - From 8:30 to 2pm
💰Cost - Carwash $10, BBQ and an assortment of slices and pies.

❌️❌️❌DUE TO OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS WE HAVE HAD TO CANCEL THIS WEEKS CARWASH❌️❌️❌

Central RFB carwash/BBQ and cake stall will be held on the 21/03/2026 08:30 am to 02:00 pm.

What a week its been,

Since Monday our team have attended 11 calls this week, with Wednesday being our busiest day having 5 calls alone within 24 hours.

Call #1 - On Monday our crews were woken just before 4am after being called to a vehicle fire at Nulkaba

Call #2 - Wednesday was our busiest day as the morning saw another early wake up with crews activated around 3:30am to another vehicle fire in Nulkaba

Call #3 - After returning from the earlier call our crews were back out responding to a grass fire just before 5am with Pokolbin Rural Fire Brigade

Call #4 - Another quick turn around from our previous call and our crew was responded just after 7am to another vehicle fire this time at Elrington this time with NSW RFS - Mulbring Brigade

Call #5 Finally with some rest our crews were once again called upon just before 6pm for a bushfire at Lovedale with NSW RFS - Neath Brigade

Call #6 - As soon as crews were completed with the previous incident at Lovedale they were responded direct to an Automatic Fire Alarm at Pokolbin with crews from NSW RFS - Neath Brigade and North Rothbury Rural Fire Brigade. Once complete all crews returned home for a well earned break.

Call #7 - Shortly before 11am on Thursday crews were called to assist with a Bush Fire at Pokolbin, Pokolbin Rural Fire Brigade, North Rothbury Rural Fire Brigade and NSW RFS - Lochinvar Brigade were also in attendance due at this call.

Call #8 - Just before 7pm our truck and crews were called to Bush fire at Cessnock, Additional crews from NSW RFS - Neath Brigade were also activated and responded to the incident.

Call #9 - Around 11:30pm our crews were paged to a reported rubbish fire at Kitchener, Crews from NSW RFS - Quorrobolong Brigade were also responded to this incident.

Call #10 - After dealing with the previous incident both our crew and NSW RFS - Quorrobolong Brigade were responded to a reported vehicle fire at Mount View

Call #10 - Friday morning saw our crews get some well earned rest before being paged to a fire at Congewai at 6:30 pm. The team from Paxton Rural Fire Brigade were also activated to this fire.

After this massive week of calls our crews were back at it again today with our regular monthly training at our home station

Many of the calls this week have been referred to the NSW Police Force for further investigations.

If you see something that looks out of place, this may be what Police are looking for.
