Q: Can you have a campfire during a fire ban?
A: No

If you plan on pitching a tent for the long weekend, please check fire restrictions for your destination.

Fire bans are in place for many regions across Queensland for the final days of the school holidays.

Campfires are considered open fires and cannot be lit in places where a fire ban is in effect.

This is for a good reason. All it takes is an ember to start a grass fire.

In the right conditions, any fire that does start can spread easily and be hard to control.

Help us to keep Queensland safe by checking fire restrictions and fire danger ratings for your location.

You can check fire bans and restrictions on our website ⬇️

LISTEN UP QUEENSLANDERS πŸ”₯

Today’s Fire Danger Rating is expected to reach HIGH across most of the state.

It takes just one spark to start a potentially dangerous bushfire, requiring a significant response from our crews.

If you live within the areas of high fire danger it’s important that you carefully consider any plans to use machinery around vegetation, such as for slashing or mowing.

If work does need to happen, make sure you have water on hand to immediately extinguish any small fires that may start.

Any fires should be reported immediately by calling Triple Zero (000).

Chinchilla Fire and Rescue Appreaciation post.

Did you know that our station is maned by a crew of Part time Auxiliary Firefighters?

Auxiliary Firefighters are everyday people that live and work in our community and drop everthing at a moments notice to respond to emergencies, 24/7, 365 days a year.

Our Auxiliary Firefighters would not be able to respond without the support of our family's and more importantly support of our primary employers, that allow us time off, away from our jobs to help the community when we are needed. We have to see and do some things that knowone should ever have to. We make people's day just a little bit better when they are having the worst day and need help the most.

Our appreciation to some of our crews primary employers for allowing our brilliant team of Auxiliary Firefighters to do what we do for the community and there ongoing support. Thankyou! Black Toyota, Qube Energy, Western Downs Civil, Shell's QGC business, Origin Energy, Western Downs Regional Council, Town Farm,

Thankyou for your ongoing support and contribution to our community! πŸš’ πŸ‘©β€πŸš’πŸ‘¨β€πŸš’
We can't do it without you!

Movember update!

So far we have raised a joint total of $3,627. We need your help to raise a bit more. Get behind our team who have been extremely busy this last couple of weeks protecting the Chinchilla community, it's a fantastic cause!

The team at Chinchilla Fire and Rescue Station are participating in Movember now in the last week. Please support our team to raise as much as possible for this great cause, help us raise awareness for men's health.

Our Motivation,
We're raising funds and awareness this Movember for all the dads, brothers, sons and mates in our lives. We need your help. Please donate to support men's health. Globally, the rate of su***de is alarmingly high, particularly in men. Too many men are β€˜toughing it out’, keeping their feelings to themselves and struggling in silence. Movember is aiming to reduce the rate of male su***de by 25% by 2030, and I want to help them get there. Help me stop men dying too young.

We will be growing that dirty Mo, moving for meatal health and creating multiple fun ways to raise funds by running some events.

Today the crew at Chinchilla Fire Station remember the 343 firefighters who died 23 years ago.

On September 11 2001, after coordinated terrorist attacks on United States soil, the twin towers of the World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan collapsed. As a result, more than 2500 people were killed and many thousands more were injured, including 343 fallen comrades from the New York City Fire Department who put themselves in harm’s way to protect the lives of those victims.

We should not let the memories of any fallen comrades fade. They made the ultimate sacrifice and we should remember them.
