Come along to a presentation and discussion about consent in marriage, and the blurring between and forced/servile marriage. Academics leading this project, together with AFP, Red Cross and an Iman, will discuss these important and delicate issues, and there will be an opportunity to have a conversation with the audience.

This event is open to everyone, including GPs, nurses, women’s support services, teachers, lawyers (among other professions) and general public.

As Modern Slavery is gender-based violence too, this tile from ACRATH reminds us that we all have a role to play.

The 2019 against Modern Slavery in South Australia submitted only one recommendation: to set up a Parliamentary inquiry into these issues - still unfulfilled.

The United Nations 16 days of activism begins on 25th November – International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, and ends of 10th December – Human Rights Day.

Modern Slavery is also a gendered crime.
