Finally, our temporary stand down, brew, and BA cleaning room at our temporary station is ready to occupy. Will be nice to have some cosy facilities while refurbishments are being made to Churchill Fire Station.

Thank you Sharper Electrics. 🙂

Today, we do not celebrate war.

We pause to think and pay respect to all those who, over the annals of history, have given this country the ultimate sacrifice in mind and body.

Their sacrifice gave us the Anzac spirit, "courage, resilience, mateship and honour", which lives to this day.

No, we don't celebrate; we remember...

Very proud to have a couple of our Churchill Fire Brigade members participating in the colour party for the International Order of Old Bastards (IOOB) ANZAC Luncheon at Crown yesterday.

This luncheon was preceded by a short ANZAC ceremony with presentation of flags, reading of the Reqium, the Ode of Remembrance, playing of the Last Post, and The Rouse.

The International Order of Old Bastards meets every two months to enjoy each others company, and raises funds for the purpose of charity. Funds raised are distributed to those in the community who have found themselves in necessitous circumstances.

🚧 Community Update 🚧

Exciting improvements are on the way for Churchill Fire Station! Over the coming months, our station will undergo important upgrades and renovations to better support our crew and the community.

These enhancements will extend the life of the station and introduce:

- Additional office space for our officers
- A dedicated Local Command Facility (LCF) for the Merton Group, - enabling larger-scale operations
- A turnout room for firefighting gear
- A decontamination area for cleaning breathing apparatus after incidents and training
- Improved, ergonomic storage spaces
- A brand-new concrete pad
- And many needed smaller upgrades across the entire station

We’re incredibly grateful for the support of HVP Plantations Gippsland, who have provided temporary space for our Pumper and Tanker 2, and Morwell Fire Brigade for housing our Tanker and District Forward Operations Vehicle during this period.

🚒 Please note: Churchill Fire Brigade remains fully operational and ready to respond to calls as needed throughout the renovation works.

Thank you for your ongoing support!

Churchill Fire Brigade Wishes everyone a Safe and Happy Easter.
