Station 6549
For all Fire Emergencies call 000 of Environment and Conservation.

The Quinns Rocks Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade is located in the suburb of Clarkson, approximately 35 kms north of the Western Australia state capital Perth. The brigade station is on Hidden Valley Retreat, Clarkson (just off Hester Avenue), having officially opened in October 2010. The brigade is owned and operated by the City of Wanneroo and was formed in 1976 under provisions provided by the Bush

Fires Act 1954. Operational and capital costs are funded by the Department of Fire and Emergency Services using monies raised by the Emergency Services Levy. Our primary role is to provide fire suppression and prevention services to the areas in the City of Wanneroo that lie outside the ESL Category 1 and 4 Boundaries. The area covered includes that north of the suburbs of Quinns Rocks and Butler through to the border with the Shire of Gingin, excluding the townsites of Yanchep and Two Rocks, the southern parts of the suburb of Jindalee and areas managed by the Dept. Whilst our primary responsibility is to the residents of the City of Wanneroo, in times of emergency we are available to assist at incidents in other local government areas, in DEC reserves and inside the ESL Category 1 area as requested. Mutual aid agreements ensure that assistance is available in all areas when required. Meetings of the brigade are held at 7:00pm on the 2nd Monday of each month at our station. The meetings are open to the public – all interested parties are welcome to attend.

Aaaand that’s a wrap🔥🧑🏻‍🎓

Congratulations to our 2026 recruit school on completing their Bushfire Safety Awareness and Bushfire Fighting Skills courses over the last few weekends. Completing these two introductory courses means this dedicated bunch have now officially earnt themselves the rank of Probationary Fire Fighters.

This is just the beginning of their journey. They will now spend the next 12 months gaining experience, learning and developing all the skills necessary to become Fire Fighters and effective crew members of the brigade with strong leadership support, effective training programs and hands-on real life experiences on the fire ground.

Welcome to the team🤝

A special thanks to the dedicated team who taught and assisted the recruits during these courses: Mark W, Craig G, Callum W, Jay D and Wayne B (East Swan BFB).

AGM Awards 2026

As an important part of our AGM, we take the opportunity to recognise the outstanding achievements and dedication of our brigade members over the past year.

We present the Captain’s Award and the Officers’ Award to members who have gone above and beyond in their service to the Brigade.

Captain’s Award - Craig Grantham

Craig is an invaluable member of our brigade, playing a key role in mentoring and training our probationary firefighters whilst also leading and participating in community engagement activities. No task is ever too big or too small, whether assisting with vehicle movements or consistently stepping up as a heavy vehicle driver throughout the busy summer fire season; Craig is always willing to help wherever he’s needed. His commitment and reliability make him a truly deserving recipient of this award.

Officers’ Award - Callum Willsher

Since taking on the role of Equipment Officer, Callum has shown outstanding dedication and commitment to ensuring our brigade remains operationally ready. Through his attention to detail, he has worked tirelessly to keep our appliances, equipment and PPE maintained, organised and in excellent condition. From coordinating servicing and repairs to managing stock levels and ensuring everything is ready when needed, Callum has invested countless hours behind the scenes. His reliability, initiative and pride in his role have made a significant contribution to the brigade, making him a thoroughly deserving recipient of the Officers’ Award.

Congratulations to our award recipients and thank you to every member who continues to serve our community with pride.

🔥Brigade Burning Requests🔥

Do you live on acreage within the City of Wanneroo and need bushland, paddocks or piles burnt in preparation of the next fire season?
We can help!🚒

Land owners are able to request to have local brigades come out and conduct a private burn on their property by following the request link below, and emailing it to: [email protected]

With the current weather conditions and soil moisture levels returning to a more suitable standard, there will be more opportunity for private burns to ensure properties are prepared for fire season.

Fire Fighters Callum and Mark went to Tadala Montessori yesterday for an educational visit in one of our trusty Light Tankers to talk to the children about what we do, some fire safety tips and ofcourse a good look around and hands on experience with the truck.

We definitely didn’t expect the surprise we got at the end of the visit!

A massive THANK YOU to the families and staff at Tadala Montessori for your very kind donations🙏🏻
