This week is Speech Pathology Week 💬

A time to raise awareness of communication and swallowing difficulties, while celebrating the vital role speech pathologists play in helping people communicate, connect and participate in everyday life.

🗣️ This year's theme, Communication Creates Possibility, reflects what speech pathologists see every day. When communication and swallowing needs are supported, people have more opportunities to connect, learn, make choices, participate and thrive.

For many Australians, communication challenges can impact these everyday opportunities.

📊 1 in 7 Australians experiences a communication disability
📚 1 in 4 children are not developmentally on track with their communication skills when they begin school
💬 Communication disability is one of Australia's most common yet often invisible disabilities

At CareChoice, we're proud to support people to build confidence, strengthen connections and achieve their goals through personalised supports that promote communication, inclusion, independence and choice.

Together, we can help create a community where everyone has the opportunity to communicate, participate and be heard.

This week is National Week of Action for Bullying No Way Week.

This year's theme, Small Acts, Big Impact, reminds us that preventing bullying doesn't always require grand gestures. Sometimes, meaningful change starts with the everyday choices we make.

Bullying can take many forms, including exclusion, intimidation, harmful online behaviour, or repeated actions that make someone feel unsafe or unwelcome.

That’s why small acts matter:
✨ Include someone who may feel left out
✨ Check in on a friend, colleague or classmate
✨ Speak up when something isn’t right
✨ Show kindness and respect in everyday interactions

At CareChoice, we believe everyone deserves to feel safe, respected and supported. Together, we can create communities where everyone feels valued, included and empowered to belong.

Small acts can make a big impact.
