🌟 Celebrating Our Commitment to the Redlands Community 🌟
From our humble beginnings in 2011, the Redland Bay SES has transformed significantly. Starting in a two-bay shed at Weiman Creek—mosquito-infested and lacking basic amenities—we've journeyed far. Under the leadership of our first Group Leader, Gerard Williams, we faced tough challenges, including limited resources and maneuvering vehicles in tight spaces.
With the generous support of our neighbours at the RSL, we established a makeshift Emergency Operations Centre and a storage space for our first truck. The community came together, and with a second-hand shipping container, we proudly painted it SES orange during a dedicated working bee.
After a decade of relentless effort, we officially opened our new headquarters at 44 Jardine Drive on May 29, 2021. This milestone not only marks our growth but also highlights our unwavering dedication to the Redlands community.
Our volunteers have consistently stepped up during local disasters and state emergencies, responding swiftly to bushfires, floods, and storms. Whether it's providing vital support to affected communities, our members are always ready to lend a hand.
Recently, our team has assisted communities across Queensland, deploying resources and expertise wherever needed. This spirit of service embodies our commitment to being a reliable support system for those in need, reinforcing the bonds within our community and beyond.
As we continue to expand our membership, we’re proud to collaborate with our sister group on Coochie-Mudlo Island, ensuring that we provide vital services to all corners of our community.
Thank you to all our volunteers for your commitment and resilience. Together, we make a difference! 💪❤️
