⚠️🔥 Redland City Council’s Parks and Conservation crews will undertake multiple hazard reduction burns in sections of bushland within the Bayview Conservation Area from Tuesday 1 September to Thursday 3 September 2026, weather conditions permitting.

The locations of the burn areas are 243-271 Days Road and 76-152 Kidd Street, Redland Bay – highlighted in yellow on the map.

👻 Ready to uncover the spooky side of Redlands Coast?

Local historian and ghost tour operator Jack Sim will launch his new book, 'Haunted Redlands', sharing eerie tales linked to some of the region's most iconic locations, from Cleveland Point Lighthouse to Spook Hill.

His talk is one of many highlights in this year's Star-Studded Spring program, which will also feature a diverse line-up of authors visiting local libraries throughout the season.

♻️ Updates to mainland Recycling and Waste Centre services from 6 October

Did you know our Recycling and Waste Centres are funded through the waste utility charge, with all households contributing the same amount regardless of how often the centres are used?

To help keep things as fair as possible whilst managing rising waste costs, residential waste disposal allowances and fees will soon commence.

📅 Commencing 6 October

✅ 12 free visits for green waste and landfill (mixed waste), per vehicle, per financial year.
✅ Fees for waste streams that are more expensive to process, including bricks and concrete, clean soil, timber, mattresses and tyres.
✅ Many items remain free at all times, including recyclables such as cardboard and scrap metal, as well as e-waste, hazardous waste, chemicals and asbestos.

👍 For most residents, there will be little or no impact. Nine out of 10 vehicles currently visit fewer than 12 times each year for landfill or green waste disposal.

🏝️ There are no changes to Island Recycling and Waste Centres.
