🧡 COMMUNITY SUPPORTER SPOTLIGHT 🧡

This week, we are recognising Presto Pasta & Pizza Cobram for their ongoing support of the SES Cobram Unit and our volunteers.

When storms hit, emergencies unfold, or volunteers are called away from their families to support the community, it's often the small acts of support behind the scenes that make a big difference.

Presto Pasta & Pizza Cobram has regularly stepped up to help our Unit, often at very short notice, providing meals to support our volunteers during emergency operations, training activities and extended responses.

There is nothing quite like a hot pizza after hours spent working in cold, wet and challenging conditions. Whether helping to restore energy, boost morale or simply provide a warm meal during a long operational shift, their support is always greatly appreciated by our volunteers.

Their willingness to answer the call when we need them reflects the strong community spirit that exists throughout Cobram and highlights the important role local businesses play in supporting volunteer emergency services.

Thank you to the team at Presto Pasta & Pizza Cobram for helping keep our volunteers fuelled, motivated and ready to continue supporting the community when it matters most.

🧡 COMMUNITY SUPPORTER SPOTLIGHT 🧡

This week, we would like to thank Ritchies Cobram for their ongoing support of our volunteers and our community.

Ritchies Cobram has been a valued supporter of the SES Cobram Unit for many years, assisting us with unit necessities and helping ensure our volunteers have access to the resources they need to continue serving the community.

We are particularly grateful for their annual fundraising donation through their year-round Community Benefit Program. This support directly assists our Unit and helps us continue delivering community engagement activities, volunteer development opportunities and emergency preparedness initiatives throughout the Cobram community.

Local businesses are often among the first to step forward when community organisations need support, and Ritchies Cobram consistently demonstrates its commitment to giving back to the community it serves.

Strong communities are built on partnerships, and we are incredibly fortunate to have businesses like Ritchies Cobram standing alongside local volunteers and community organisations.

Today is Thank a First Responder Day, and we’re taking a moment to recognise the incredible people who answer the call when our community needs them most.

At Cobram SES, our volunteers come from all walks of life, giving up their time with family, friends and work commitments to help others during storms, floods, road crash rescues, searches and emergencies.

They don’t do it for recognition. They do it because they care about their community.

To our SES volunteers, and to all first responders across our region – thank you for your dedication, professionalism and willingness to step forward when others need help.

There goes our heroes. 💙🧡

This week, we are proud to recognise Cobram Small Engines for their ongoing support of the SES Cobram Unit and our volunteers.
Behind every storm response, tree-down job and chainsaw deployment is equipment that must be maintained, serviced and ready to go when our community needs us.
The team at Cobram Small Engines has been a valued supporter of our Unit, helping keep our chainsaws operational through servicing, maintenance, parts and expert advice.
Their support extends beyond our operational capability. The STIHL children's tools they have provided have become a favourite feature of our community engagement activities, helping us connect with children and families at school visits, agricultural shows, open days and community events.
These hands-on activities create opportunities to talk about emergency preparedness, volunteering and community safety in a fun and engaging way.
Thank you to the team at Cobram Small Engines for supporting our volunteers and helping us build a safer and more resilient community.

🧡 NEW SERIES – COMMUNITY SUPPORTER SPOTLIGHT 🧡

At the SES Cobram Unit, we know that volunteers don't stand alone.

Behind every training night, community event, chainsaw deployment, road rescue, fundraising activity and emergency response is a network of local businesses, organisations and community members who support our volunteers in countless ways.

Some help us maintain our equipment. Some support our community engagement activities. Some donate goods, services or their time. Others simply back our volunteers whenever they are needed.

These contributions often happen quietly behind the scenes, but they make a real difference.

Over the coming months, we will be introducing our Community Supporter Spotlight series, where we recognise and thank some of the businesses and organisations that help us serve the Cobram community.

Community resilience is built through partnerships, and we are incredibly grateful for the support we receive from across our community.

On Wednesday, May 20 the region will celebrate ‘Wear Orange Wednesday’ (known as WOW), a day encouraging all Victorians to wear orange in appreciation of SES volunteers.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing mums, grandmothers, step mums, carers and mother figures in our community today 🧡

Thank you for everything you do — the support, care, strength and kindness you give every single day does not go unnoticed.

A special thank you as well to the mums within our unit family who continue to volunteer their time helping and supporting others, while balancing family life behind the scenes.

We hope today brings you a chance to relax, feel appreciated, and spend time with those who matter most.

Today, members of Cobram SES attended the Cobram ANZAC Day Service to pay our respects and honour the courage, sacrifice, and service of our veterans and current serving personnel.

ANZAC Day is a time for reflection and remembrance, and we are proud to stand alongside our community in recognising those who have given so much for our country.

To be recognised alongside such an inspiring group of individuals and organisations across Moira Shire is something we are truly proud of. Congratulations to all nominees and winners—your contributions make our community stronger every day.

This award reflects the dedication of our volunteers who give their time, skills, and energy to support our community through storms, floods, and emergencies, as well as through education and preparedness work year-round.
