Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing mums, grandmothers, step mums, carers and mother figures in our community today 🧡

Thank you for everything you do — the support, care, strength and kindness you give every single day does not go unnoticed.

A special thank you as well to the mums within our unit family who continue to volunteer their time helping and supporting others, while balancing family life behind the scenes.

We hope today brings you a chance to relax, feel appreciated, and spend time with those who matter most.

From all of us at Cobram SES — Happy Mother’s Day 🌸

We are incredibly honoured to share that the Cobram SES Unit has been named Community Star Achiever of the Year at the 2026 Moira Achiever Awards last night 🌟

To be recognised alongside such an inspiring group of individuals and organisations across Moira Shire is something we are truly proud of. Congratulations to all nominees and winners—your contributions make our community stronger every day.

This award reflects the dedication of our volunteers who give their time, skills, and energy to support our community through storms, floods, and emergencies, as well as through education and preparedness work year-round.

We’d like to thank Moira Shire for this recognition, and most importantly, our community for your ongoing support and trust in what we do.

This achievement belongs to every member of our unit—past and present—and to the community we are proud to serve 🧡

Happy 1st April to all our followers 😉

Carrots are now an on-board requirement for the VICSES fleet to ensure volunteer responders can maintain minimum physical fitness for role standards, with recent studies showing a strong link between carrot intake of emergency responders and eye health.

With VICSES leading flood and storm response operations and playing an integral support role during search operations including for missing people and evidence, maintaining healthy eyesight is vital – especially at night and during low-light conditions.

“We’re always looking for opportunities to improve our service delivery.” said VICSES spokesperson, April Firsty. “Carrots have essential nutrients and can even improve night vision, which is crucial as part of our operational response”.

Special climate-controlled carrot stowage will be rolled out across our fleet in the near future which will ensure the healthy snack is always available to refuel on the go and improve responder vision. The colour of the vegetable is a coincidental bonus. The program will be reviewed at around midday today.

It was an absolute pleasure to welcome your Year 12 VCE VM students to the Cobram SES Unit this week.

We’re proud to give students a behind the scenes look at how SES operates, from the teamwork and coordination required during emergencies to the wide range of roles that keep our unit running. Seeing such strong engagement, curiosity and willingness to learn from your students was fantastic.

At SES, we’re built on community, and opportunities like this help inspire the next generation to get involved, give back and make a difference.

A big thank you to your staff and students for visiting, we hope to see some of you in orange one day! 🧡

💛🚨 Happy Valentine’s Day from Cobram SES 🚨💛
Whether you’re celebrating with someone special or just enjoying the day, we hope it’s safe, happy and drama-free. And yes… we still remember telling you we use Windex for ring cutting.... So if that Valentine’s surprise doesn’t quite fit, don’t stress. If you need rescuing today, we’ve got the Windex 😉💍

Thanks for the love and support, Cobram ❤️

Today members of SES Cobram Unit were honoured to attend the Thank You and Appreciation Day at Katamatite, recognising the incredible efforts of volunteers and agencies involved in the Yarroweyah–Katamatite fires.

We were humbled by the kindness and gratitude shown by the community and are proud to stand alongside the CFA, emergency services, support agencies, and local helpers who all played a role during such a challenging time.

A huge thank you to the organisers and the Katamatite community for taking the time to acknowledge volunteers, it truly means a lot and reminds us why we do what we do. 💙

🏆 Community Organisation of the Year Australia Day Awards 🏆

Cobram SES is incredibly proud and honoured to be named Community Organisation of the Year at this year’s Australia Day Awards.

This recognition belongs to every single one of our volunteers the people who drop everything to respond when our community needs help, often in tough and unpredictable conditions. Your dedication, professionalism and teamwork are what make this unit what it is.

We also want to sincerely thank the employers who support our members when the pager goes off, and the families who make quiet sacrifices behind the scenes missed dinners, interrupted plans, and time apart. Your understanding and support make our work possible, and it does not go unnoticed.

Also a special mention to Cobram Fire Brigade - CFA member Taylar Knight on being awarded young citizen of the year

Thank you to our community for your continued trust and support. We are proud to serve Cobram and the surrounding district. 💛🚨
