From: Terry Dwyer, Randwick, NSW 2031 Subject: Release Daniel Duggan
5 August 2026
Dear Prime Minister Albanese, Attorney-General Rowland, and Solicitor-General Higgins,
I write to you as a deeply concerned Australian citizen regarding the continued imprisonment and proposed extradition of Australian citizen Daniel Duggan.
Mr Duggan has now spent more than three and a half years in a maximum-security prison while awaiting extradition. During the first 19 months of his detention, he was held in solitary confinement and classified as an “Extreme High Risk Restricted” prisoner. This classification is reserved for inmates considered to pose an extreme danger to others or to prison security, or who are believed likely to incite serious disorder within a correctional facility.
How can such a classification be justified for a peaceful father of six when Australia’s own authorities have found no evidence that he committed any offence under Australian law?
