Merri-bek Libraries

Merri-bek Libraries Merri-bek City Council has five libraries in Brunswick, Brunswick West, Coburg, Fawkner and Glenroy.

The libraries offer a range of services including borrowing books, ebooks, magazines, CDs and DVDs. We also offer computer and internet services, interesting talks and events, activities for children and much more. General Information

ge to get involved in conversations about Merri-bek, and how we can make it better. Material posted on this page must not:

– Be defamatory, offensive, unlawful, obscene, racist, abusive, threatening, harassing or hateful

-Name members of the public or employees. Please send these details via private message.

– Be irrelevant - posts on the page must relate to Merri-bek or Merri-bek City Council, and comments must relate to the original post

– Infringe on the rights of any third party, including intellectual property or privacy rights

– Be posted, in the same form, more than once (i.e. spamming)

– Be unrelated to the original post.

– While Council may issue warnings for breaching the page rules, Council has the discretion to block users who break the rules without issuing a warning first. Council will delete posts or comments that violate these rules. Racist and hurtful comments will not be tolerated and users will be banned. Council will also delete any comments made by candidates on any of Council's social media pages. Candidates are not allowed to comment on any posts or respond to residents from a Merri-bek City Council social media platform. Comments/posts/mentions made by members of the public on a Merri-bek City Council page that promote a candidate will also be deleted. Privacy Policy

Celebrate our local legends! Merri-bek Community Awards are now open. 🥳

From volunteers and young changemakers to community leaders and local organisations, our annual awards celebrate the passion, dedication, and hard work that often happens quietly but leaves a lasting impact.

This year, we have 9 award categories:
• Environmental Sustainability Award (in recognition of John Englart)
• Volunteer of the Year Award
• Youth Impact Award
• Honouring Women Award
• Diversity and Inclusion Award
• Sport and Recreation Achievement Award
• Community Initiative of the Year Award
• Arts and Creative Expression Award
• First Peoples Cultural Leadership Award (in recognition of Lisa Bellear)
It’s your opportunity to recognise the people and projects making a difference in Merri-bek.
Submit your nomination online or in-person at our libraries and customer service centres by Monday 24 August. You can submit your nomination in your preferred language.

The Merger is a heartwarming comedy about a regional footy team that unites with a refugee support centre to save the club and take their community on a journey of change. Enjoy a special Refugee Week Thursday Movie Night this week at Glenroy Library and enjoy free refreshments.

St Luke's church on the corner of Glenroy Road and Plumpton Avenue, now the Uthman Dhun-Nurayn Mosque. Built in 1929 as an Anglican church in a hawthorn style. The greyscale photo is from 1994 when the building was up for sale by Youngs real estate. The present day photo shows the mosque for worshippers of the Sunni denomination.
