AusAlert is being trialled in Port Lincoln, and local organisations are invited to be part of the conversation.

Businesses, agencies, community groups, service providers, sporting clubs, education providers, tourism operators, not-for-profits, and local leaders are invited to attend an AusAlert information session on Wednesday, 13 May.

These sessions will explain:
- What AusAlert is
- What to expect during the Port Lincoln community-based trial
- How AusAlert works with existing emergency information and warning channels
- How local organisations can help share information with their communities

There will be an opportunity ask questions about the community-based trial, and AusAlert in general.

Where: Nautilus Arts Centre, 66 Tasman Terrace, Port Lincoln
Session times: 11:00am, 1:30pm or 6:00pm
Register here: https://PtLincolnAusAlertInformation.eventbrite.com.au

Attendance is free, but registration is required. Light catering will be provided.

Please share this with your local networks, staff, volunteers, members, and community contacts so we can reach as many Port Lincoln organisations and groups as possible.

This event is being hosted by the South Australian Fire and Emergency Services Commission (SAFECOM), the City of Port Lincoln Council and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).

πŸ”₯ Fire Danger Season Update πŸ”₯

Fire Danger Season has now officially ended in the following Fire Ban Districts:
Eastern Eyre Peninsula, Lower Eyre Peninsula, North East Pastoral, North West Pastoral, West Coast, and Flinders.

While this is a welcome end to the season, we remind everyone in these areas to continue exercising caution when using fire. Recent rain and cooler weather can be misleading, and risks can still remain.

For the rest of the state, Fire Danger Season is expected to end on 30 April. These districts must continue to follow all current restrictions until the season is officially lifted.

πŸ‘‰ Visit our website to learn what you can and can’t do during Fire Danger Season and to check the status of your Fire Ban District: https://www.cfs.sa.gov.au/warnings-restrictions/restrictions/fire-danger-season-dates-permits/

Elevated Fire Danger Forecast – Stay Alert πŸ”₯

This is a timely reminder that we are not out of Fire Danger Season yet.

South Australia will be on heightened alert tomorrow as High and Extreme Fire Danger Ratings are forecast for multiple districts across the state due to increased fuel loads, and hot and windy conditions.

Avoid any activities such as:
❌ Having campfires or comfort fires
❌ Using machinery or power tools
❌ Conducting burn offs on your property

If you have recently conducted a burn off, please ensure that it is fully extinguished as they can reignite if the conditions permit.

Fire conditions can deteriorate rapidly. Stay informed by monitoring current warnings and alerts on multiple channels and always follow advice from emergency services.

As we have seen with recent fires across the state and country, the current dry conditions continue to increase the risk of fires and potential impacts to communities.

With hot and windy conditions forecast across the state this weekend and into early next week, there is a heightened risk of fires starting and spreading quickly.

Our CFS members are ready to respond over the weekend but we need you to do your part. Even if your district is not in ban today, you need to be prepared, stay informed, and where possible don't do any activities that could spark a fire.
