INTRODUCING SAFER FUTURES!
Safer Futures is an opportunity for men to learn more about the impact of their behaviour, take responsibility and be a safe man. It is a 20 week program combining group and individual sessions.
WHAT HAPPENS IN GROUP?
Experienced facilitators will provide you with information, support discussions around your thoughts and experiences and allow you time to reflect.
The group space is a positive place to build on your strengths and understand how you can be safer in your relationships.
The group usually has around 8-12 other men and so it is usual to feel anxious about entering the group. We aim to create a safe and positive space for all men.
FAMILY SAFETY
Domestic and family violence impacts everyone and so when working with you we can link those who have experienced harm to supports.
Our priority is ensuring women and children are safe, and we have access to services to support this.
SUPPORTING CHANGE
Change can be tricky and overwhelming at times. Your journey can be strengthened by the support of a caseworker who will partner with you to access services to reduce some of the barriers that might be getting in the way of your path to non-violence.
- Free, trauma informed and non-judgemental
- Find ways to stop using harmful relationship behaviours
- Learn with peers, from peers and experienced facilitators how you can change to support safety for yourself and your family
- Consider how you can be accountable for your own thoughts, behaviours and their consequences
- Learn to focus on your behaviour and not the behaviour of others
- Individual and group-based sessions to support learning
IS THIS FOR ME?
The Safer Futures Men's Behaviour Change Program provides an opportunity for men to learn more about the impact of their behaviour , taking responsibility and being a safe man.
Your journey of change can be strengthened by engaging in learning with your peers which can happen in our group-work sessions.
