Recently at Cultura’s HW Club, we celebrated the World Cup by welcoming local soccer player Joar Riek, who plays for Geelong Soccer Club.

Joar shared his love of soccer and ran some fun drills with our students. We love how the World Cup brings people together across the globe through a shared love of sport.

A big thank you to Joar for inspiring our young people, we are cheering you on!

Cultura are incredibly grateful to have received a donation of period underwear from Share the Dignity to distribute free across the Colac community.

A big thank you to our amazing local partners: The Salvation Army, Colac Area Health, Rotary International, Colac Neighbourhood House, local schools, and Headspace for helping make sure these items reached women and young people in our community.

We are glad to support the wonderful work of Share the Dignity and contribute in a small way to making access to period products a little easier for women and young people locally.

On Tuesday, we recognised National Sorry Day. Students reflected on the history of the Stolen Generations and learned about the ongoing effects of this harm.

The Native Hibiscus flower symbolises the scattering of the Stolen Generations and their resilience to the Australian government policies.

Across Victoria and around the world, meals are shared, communities give to those in need, and the values of sacrifice, gratitude and care for one another are honoured.

The Victorian Multicultural Commission extends its warmest wishes to all those celebrating Eid al-Adha, and recognises the important role faith, community and generosity play in strengthening our vibrant multicultural society.
