You require to have:
- Valid NSW drivers licence (minimum P1)
-Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
-Live and/or work within 7 minutes of Coledale fire station
-Long term daytime availability, Monday to Friday 0800 to 1600

Our annual Santa Run is happening Christmas Eve, and we’re excited to share the planned route so you can be ready to wave hello 👋🎄

📅 Tuesday 24 December 2025
⏰ Departing Coledale Fire Station at 3:00pm

🗺️ Planned Route:

🚒 Leave Coledale Fire Station
➡️ Park Street
➡️ Cliff Street
➡️ Along Lawrence Hargrave Drive (LHD)
➡️ Up Cater Street
➡️ Down Young Street
➡️ Into Rawson Street and Gifford Street
➡️ Back along LHD
➡️ Up Squires Crescent
➡️ Coledale Hospital – visiting patients and staff ❤️
➡️ Back along LHD
➡️ Up and around Hemsley Place
➡️ Coledale Surf Life Saving Club
➡️ Final run back along LHD to Coledale Fire Station

🎄 Times are approximate and may vary slightly depending on conditions.

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our Captain and dear friend, Captain Johnny Morrison of Coledale Fire Station (Station 258).

Johnny passed away last week, surrounded by his wife Sarah, their daughter Izzie, and his family. In his final act of generosity and courage, Johnny gave the gift of life as an organ donor — a true reflection of the person he was.

Johnny served his community with unwavering dedication, integrity and pride. As Captain of 258, he led by example — steady, humble, and always putting his crew and community first.

He was the kind of leader who never needed to raise his voice to earn respect. His kindness, humour and quiet strength shaped the culture of this station, and that influence will live on in all of us.

Our thoughts, love and deepest support are with Sarah, Izzie and Johnny’s family, as well as our 258 crew and the wider firefighting community who will feel this loss profoundly.

We kindly ask that everyone respects the family’s privacy during this incredibly difficult time.

Johnny will forever remain part of our fire family.
Rest easy, Captain — we’ll take it from here.

We are truly touched by the wonderful thank-you cards we received from the amazing students at Scarborough Public School! Your heartfelt messages and beautiful drawings mean the world to us.

It's moments like these that remind us why we do what we do. Knowing that our efforts to keep the community safe are appreciated by our youngest residents is incredibly uplifting.

We are thrilled to announce the grand reopening of Coledale Fire Station after its refurbishment! Join us for a special ceremony to mark this significant event.

For the first time since we have renovated our station 🚨 Join us for Fire and Rescue NSW Free Open Day, Saturday, 11 May, from 10 am to 2 pm! 🚒 Come meet our firefighters, explore our equipment, and learn important safety tips. Bring your family and friends for a fun and educational experience! See you there!

Today was a blast at Planet Childcare Centre! 🔥 We swung by to share some crucial fire safety tips with the young crew.

From gearing up in full firefighter gear to mastering the "get down low and go go go" drill in simulated smoke, these kids were on fire! The highlight? Exploring our fire truck and having a blast with the fire hose.

A special shoutout to our own Firefighter Jack, who not only rocked the firefighter gear but also organised this fantastic day. Big thanks, Jack! 🙌
