Callout to SNB lifesavers over 18 years old. If you are available to assist with evacuations, please meet at SNB Branch Office 9/1 Vukp Place Warriewood to assist with evacuations

The Narrabeen Lagoon catchment measures more than 50 square kilometres.

That entire area's been deluged with rain, meaning vast amounts of water are headed headed downhill to the lagoon.

Combine that with tonight's high tide and severe flooding is inevitable.

Predictions for flood levels already exceed those of 2016 and the rain is still falling.

Homes are being inundated, roads covered, property damaged.

A formal evacuation order has now been issued.

Residents of all low-lying streets should prepare and leave a.s.a.p.

This means turning off power to your property, raising furniture, collecting pets, valuables and important documents and leaving.

If possible, head to the homes of family or friends.

Failing that, evacuation centres are open at:
Mona Vale Community Centre - 1 Park Street
Cromer Community Centre - 150 Fisher Road North.

Who's affected:
All properties surrounding Narrabeen Lagoon, from Wakehurst Parkway, Narrabeen bordered by:
The Esplanade, west of Pittwater Road from Goodwin St to Albert Street then along Lagoon St to Octavia St, properties west of Lisle St, including low-lying properties of Emerald St and Malcom St, Walsh Street west of Pittwater Rd towards Warriewood Rd along Macpherson St down Garden St to Pittwater Rd including low-lying properties of Nareen Pde, Gondola Rd, Rickard Rd, Windsor Pde and Bristol Ln.

Crews from the S.E.S. and Surf Life Saving NSW are door knocking houses now reinforcing the advice to leave.

⚠️⚠️ FLOOD EVACUATION ORDER ⚠️⚠️

Narrabeen Residents: Evacuate by 10:30pm

The NSW SES has issued a flood evacuation order for Narrabeen Lagoon.

The affected area is all properties surrounding Narrabeen Lagoon, from Wakehurst Parkway, Narrabeen bordered by The Esplanade, west of Pittwater Road from Goodwin St to Albert Street then along Lagoon St to Octavia St, properties west of Lisle St, including low-lying properties of Emerald St and Malcom St, Walsh Street west of Pittwater Rd towards Warriewood Rd along Macpherson St down Garden St to Pittwater Rd including low-lying properties of Nareen Pde,
Gondola Rd, Rickard Rd, Windsor Pde and Bristol Ln

1. Residents should relocate personal possessions to a safe place.
2. By 10:30pm, leave the high danger area and move to safety within the Narrabeen Lagoon.

Why we are directing people to evacuate.

Once floodwater 2.4m the Pittwater Road will be cut. If
you remain in the area after 10:30pm you will be trapped without power, water and other essential services and it may be too dangerous to rescue you.

This flood will be higher than the 2016 flood of the Narrabeen Lagoon.

Where to go: Stay with family or friends outside of the flood area, if you are unable, an evacuation centre has been established at Mona Vale Memorial Hall, 1 Park St Mona
Vale and Cromer Community Centre, 150 Fisher Rd North, Cromer

If you require emergency assistance call NSW SES on 132 500, if you require rescue due to floodwater call triple zero (000).

Incident: Today SLS assets had been tasked to Manly Cove for reports of an unresponsive male being dragged out of the water near East Esplanade. As SLS had the nearest first responder assets in the area Manly patrol members with Duty Officer NB14 responded to the scene.

The patrol plus members of the public and off duty lifesavers worked hard to revive the person but unfortunately the person was pronounced at the scene by NSW Ambulance.

Our thoughts go out to the persons family and thanks to our wonderful lifesaver teams that responded.
