Tidy Verges Program

The Shire is pleased with the community’s positive response to the tidy verges and front yards program. So far, removal stickers have been placed on 59 vehicles—including cars, trucks, caravans, and buses—as well as 3 skip bins.

Of these, 54 vehicles and all 3 skip bins have been moved voluntarily. For the remaining 6 vehicles, 5 have already been towed and 1 are scheduled for towing.

Any unclaimed impounded vehicles will be processed through an expression-of-interest sale, a method that has previously enabled the Shire to recover costs. The program remains ongoing.

Reminder

Residents and property owners are now being advised that from May 2026, rangers will begin property visits where dog registrations have expired. Owners of unregistered dogs may be issued with a Notice to Register or an infringement if registrations are not up to date.

The Shire encourages residents to renew their dog registrations promptly. This can be done in person at the Shire Administration Office, or by calling 9734 9000.

Keeping your dog’s registration current not only helps avoid penalties, but also supports community safety and ensures pets can be quickly identified and returned home if lost.
The Shire appreciates the community’s cooperation and continues to promote responsible and caring dog ownership.

Parks Soft Fall

Recently a contractor was engaged to sift the sand at Soldiers Park using specialised equipment.
Conducting this process twice annually helps minimise potential hazards and maintains the sand in a loose, “fluffy” condition.

In addition to the sifting sessions, Shire staff regularly inspect and remove any foreign material from the softball sand.

The next scheduled sifting will take place in December 2026 in preparation for the Christmas school holidays.
