Members of the Coolum SES proudly attended the Coolum-Peregian RSL Anzac Day ceremony to pay their respects and honour those who have served and sacrificed for our country.

Standing alongside the community, it was a meaningful opportunity to reflect on the spirit of ANZACโ€”courage, mateship, and resilienceโ€”which continues to guide us in our service today.

Lest we forget.

STAY VIGILANT Flood warning remains with more rain to come ๐ŸŒง๏ธ

The Bureau of Meteorology is warning rainfall of 10-50mm is expected across the Sunshine Coast in the next 24 hours. โ˜”

Waterways are already swollen, which increases the possibility of river levels rising rapidly, and flash flooding. ๐ŸŒŠ

Keep an eye on local conditions with our Disaster Hub for road closures, traffic cameras, flood mapping, as well as find important links: disasterhub.sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au

Highest rainfall levels in the last 24 hours (as of 4.30pm) are:
133mm at Doonan, 129mm at Peregian Springs, 125mm for Maleny, 123mm at Maroochydore, Buderim and Yandina Creek, and 117mm at Mountain Creek.

- Do not drive unless you have to as conditions are dangerous.
- Even in shallow floodwater, your carโ€™s steering, engine and electrics can fail.
- Do not enter floodwater. You donโ€™t know what dangers it may contain.
- Flash flooding can happen anywhere, anytime and there may be no โ€˜road closedโ€™ sign.
- Sunshine Coast will remain a minor flood watch area from Monday evening and into Tuesday.

Stay up-to-date with the latest forecasts and warnings via www.bom.gov.au or the BOM Weather app.

For flood-related assistance, including sandbags, phone SES on 132 500, or log a job via the SES Assistance QLD app.

The Bureau of Meteorology is warning we could see rainfall levels of up to 170mm in the next 24 hours.

Sunshine Coast is a moderate flood watch area from Sunday evening and into Monday.

Rapid river level rises, and flash flooding are possible in areas of heavy rainfall.

Highest rainfall levels in the last 24 hours (as of 5pm): 128mm at Bald K**b, 109mm for Landsborough, 112mm at Yandina Creek, 93mm at Parklands, 91mm in Eumundi and Mountain Creek, 87mm for Coolum and Sippy Downs and 86mm at Mapleton.

So far, our waterways are well under Minor Flood Level and our road network is holding up well. Two roads are closed due to water inundation.

- Stay off the roads and donโ€™t enter floodwater. ๐Ÿšซ
- Park your car undercover away from trees. ๐Ÿš—
- Charge mobile phones in case of a power outage. ๐Ÿ“ฒ
- Put your pets somewhere safe. ๐Ÿถ
- Stay up-to-date with the latest forecasts and warnings via www.bom.gov.au or the BOM Weather app.

Congratulations to the members of the Coolum SES for being awarded a Challenge Coin on behalf of the QLD State Emergency Services Chief Officer Mark Armstrong for the diligent and professional work and commitment to the community over the last few years. Mark wanted to especially highlight the huge storm that occurred on 24th November last year. These recipients managed to work together as a well oiled team and successfully complete 87 requests for assistance in those 4 days. This was also an achievement considering there was also no power. We were also supported quite admirably by other ses groups in the region and also the local RFS. If you would like to be part of this awesome team and give something back to the community, please contact us on [email protected]
