🚒 Today we were pleased to invite the team from Fire and Rescue NSW to Cooinda for a site familiarisation visit.

While we hope they're never needed, visits like these are an important part of keeping our residents, staff and community safe. By taking the time to become familiar with our building layout, evacuation routes, fire safety systems and the unique needs of an aged care environment, our local firefighters are even better prepared to respond quickly and effectively should an emergency ever occur.

This visit follows Cooinda's recent review of our Emergency Management Plan and reinforces our commitment to being prepared for every situation, not because we expect emergencies, but because our residents deserve the very best planning and protection.

A huge thank you to our local Coonabarabran Fire and Rescue crew for their ongoing support of Cooinda and the wider Coonabarabran community. We appreciate everything you do, often behind the scenes, to help keep us all safe. ❤️🚒

Coona gets around 90 call outs a year, you'll be paid for an hour and a half per call out, as well as paid training, paid travel, uniforms supplied and much more.

🚒 Get ready, Coonabarabran! 🚒

Station 264 is opening its doors to the community at OUR NEW FIRE STATION!!! on Saturday 9th of May 2026 for our annual Fire and Rescue Open Day! Come down and meet your local firefighters, see our trucks and equipment up close, and learn some vital fire safety tips.

It's a fantastic opportunity for the whole family! We'll have demonstrations, activities and goodies for the kids, and you can chat with the brave men and women who serve our community.
