STRUCTURE FIRES & BUSHFIRE

🚒 If you’ve been hearing sirens around town today, our brigade has been kept busy. Crews have responded to multiple structure fires as well as a running bushfire.

🔥With today’s high temps and strong winds, our brigade was placed on standby and remained ready throughout the day. This afternoon we were responded to a fire in Seahampton, working alongside multiple other brigades.

The fire was located off George Booth Drive and, once access was made, crews worked hard to contain the spread and complete mop‑up operations. A solid effort from everyone involved and a great opportunity to fine tune the skills of our newer members.

INCIDENT CALL - 🔥BUSHFIRE🔥

This morning the brigade was called to assist Dora Creek Rural Fire Brigade with a Bushfire burning on Dora St.

Whilst this was a picturesque spot to catch the sunrise, unfortunately crews were faced with a sizeable fire burning in bushland. Crews were able to extinguish and then spent a couple hours mopping up and rendering the area safe.

Due to the suspicious nature of this fire we ask everyone to be vigilant and report anything to 000.

🔥 Dolls House Fire Demo 🔥

On Monday night our brigade ran a dolls house fire behaviour demonstration, giving our members a close, real‑time look at how fire develops inside a small compartment. Members were able to see smoke layering, heat build‑up, flame spread, and how ventilation changes fire behaviour — all in a safe, controlled setup.

It’s a powerful visual tool that helps firefighters better understand what happens inside a room during a fire, strengthening decision‑making and safety on the fireground.
