Evacuation and emergency drills may seem tiresome but they are worth tons in a crisis situation especially if you are a school and work with children.

Being prepared for an emergency can save lives.

⏱️ Rehearse both an evacuation and a lockdown procedure at least every 3 months.
✅ Document all drills and make any necessary improvements.

🎉 Relive the Highlights of Celebrating Language and Culture 2026 🌏🎭

On 17 May 2026, Celebrating Language and Culture brought together students, teachers, families, and volunteers from Community Language Schools across Queensland to honour the many languages and cultures that enrich our communities.

This short video captures some of the wonderful performances, cultural displays, and joyful moments from the day. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this event such a memorable celebration of multicultural Queensland.

Together, we continue to celebrate, preserve, and promote the languages and cultures that connect generations and strengthen our communities.

Join ESAQ for an important Child Safety Listening Session for educators, parents, carers, grandparents, and community members.

Hosted by ESAQ and delivered by the Cultural Perspective team from NSW, the session will share practical resources and strategies to help keep children safe.

We invite you to participate in a survey led by Dr Anna Mikhaylova at the University of Queensland, “Bridging the Perspectives: Community Language Schools Project” with support from Ethnic Schools Association of Queendland. The project explores what supports you, what matters most, and the challenges you face in passing on your community language. Share your thoughts in our anonymous survey.
