Recently, a number of signs at the hall were covered in graffiti.

These signs help sponsor the hall and keep the hiring costs down for the community. When this occurs, it costs the association money to clean up or replace signs. The hall is run by a small group of volunteers and receives no ongoing government funding. We have reported this matter to the police.

We ask the community to please report any suspicious behaviour around the hall to the police.

The Coorparoo School of Arts & Memorial Hall is managed and run by a committee of 10 volunteers. We work hard to preserve the historic hall and to keep the hiring costs down for local community use from celebrations and concerts, to dance lessons and martial arts training.

We are pleased to launch our 2026 Coorparoo School of Arts & Memorial Hall Association Annual Appeal!

Your generous support helps our association to preserve the character of the 136-year-old, heritage-listed hall and keep it available and functional for community use.

We estimate 500 to 1000 people use the hall each week for a range of activities including community celebrations, dance lessons, seniors’ fitness classes, martial arts training, concerts, youth events and many other activities. Our committee also provides support for local domestic violence recovery groups and a homeless support organisation who utilise our facilities free of cost.

Our hall is managed and run by 10 volunteers. We receive no ongoing government funding and no paid staff. All money raised will assist our association to preserve the hall, undertake maintenance and keep hiring costs down for community groups and individuals.

Last Friday we welcomed our local community to lay a red rose on our recently installed Red Bench in recognition of Domestic and Family Violence Protection month.
