A Reminder to Stay on the Road
This morning, Coromandel Valley CFS crews responded to reports of a road crash rescue at Craigburn Farm.
On arrival, crews located a vehicle that had travelled down a walking trail while the occupants were exploring the area, before becoming stuck. Fortunately, no one was injured.
CFS crews assisted with stabilising the vehicle and, with the assistance of Blackwood Country Fire Service, the vehicle was safely removed from the trail and relocated to a safe location. SA Police and SA Ambulance Service also attended the incident.
While this incident ended without injury, it provides an important community safety reminder. Walking and recreational trails are not necessarily suitable for motor vehicles. Conditions can change quickly, with narrow sections, steep or unstable terrain and limited opportunities to safely turn around or recover a vehicle.
Exploring our local area is a great way to get outdoors, but if you’re travelling by vehicle, please stick to designated roads and tracks that are open and suitable for vehicle access.
