On Monday, our VCE Vocational Major students visited Melbourne Zoo as part of their Personal Development Skill studies.

As part of their visit, students investigated a real-world environmental issue, developing a community conservation project plan in response.

Students have then been able to take this project plan back to school where they will implement, evaluate and reflect forming a part of their Unit 4 outcomes.

We are currently recruiting two exam supervisors and one additional clarifier to join our exam supervision team for the upcoming G*T on Tuesday 16th June.

These are paid positions. To be eligible to apply you must hold a valid Working with Children Check and must not be:

- Related to or tutoring a student undertaking the G*T or VCE Unit 3/4 in 2026 at Elevation Secondary College.
- Teaching any student required to sit the G*T or in a VCE Unit 3/4 study in 2026.
- Related to or associated with any person engaged in teaching, tutoring or coaching any student required to sit the G*T or in a VCE Unit 3/4 in 2026 at Elevation Secondary College.
- Related to any school personnel engaged in organising or checking VCE external assessment materials at Elevation Secondary College.
- Employed as a teacher (excluding CRT) or member of administration staff at Elevation Secondary College.

Recently our Year 10 Chinese Language and VCE Unit 1 & 2 Chinese Language, Culture & Society students visited the National Gallery of Victoria’s Asian Art exhibition.

Students were able to draw on their prior understanding of past and present China, making relevant observations in preparation for and to enhance their studies.

After visiting the exhibit, students then visited Chinatown, ordering their lunch in Mandarin, before making their way to visit the Museum of Chinese Australian History.

Last Thursday, a group of Year 10 and Year 11 students had the opportunity to venture into Melbourne’s CBD to participate in the Australian Business and Community Network Interview 2 Impress workshop.

Over 3.5 hours, students met with mentors from Vanguard to learn, develop and become more confident in their interviewing and employment skills, participating in informal interviews and receiving valuable feedback.

Last week we held our annual whole college Athletics Day at Meadowglen Stadium.

Students competed fiercely on track and field for points towards the House Championship. They all showed up with plenty of House Spirit and fantastic costumes that were on full display throughout the day.

Congratulations to Bunjil for taking home the House Championship with a total of 448 points!

Today over 40 students across Years 7 to 10 represented Elevation in the Big Science Competition.

Over the course of 50 minutes our students were tested on their scientific knowledge and problem-solving skills through questions set in real life and contemporary contexts.

We are happy to report that our Year 7 students arrived happy and safe at camp yesterday!

On Saturday, two of our SRC students and staff represented Elevation Secondary College at Craigieburn War Memorial to lay a wreath in honour of those who have served and commemorate ANZAC Day.

We remember the sacrifices made by those who have served our country, their bravery and sacrifices for our freedom will never be forgotten.

Lest we forget.

Yesterday our Year 12 VCE Physical Education students participated in an applied physiology session bringing key concepts from their studies to life.

Students observed a VO2 Max test, engaging and analysing the data as it was recorded in real time.

This allowed students to see how energy systems contribute to exercise performance when faced with increasing intensity, applying theory to real life performance.
