Over the weekend, two of our firefighters completed their breathing apparatus course with a practical assessment day at CFA's training facility in Ballan. The course involved putting their skills into practice during a simulated fire involving a petrol tanker and running fuel fire.

Congratulations to all members that took part in the course!

Come down to Highlands Shopping Centre today to get anti theft number plate screws installed on your vehicle.

Number plate theft is on the rise so you can make them harder to steal and reduce the chances of your plates being used illegally.

We'll be here until 2pm along with Neighbourhood Watch and our emergency service partners SES Craigieburn Unit and Victoria Police.

A new national warning system called AusAlert will be used across Australia from October 2026.

AusAlert will be able to send warning messages to your mobile device as push notifications during:
β€’ Natural hazards such as bushfires, floods, and tsunamis
β€’ Public health emergencies
β€’ Biosecurity incidents
β€’ Security threats

Before the system is introduced, it will be tested.

In Victoria, a local test will happen in the Geelong suburbs of Highton and Belmont on Thursday 18 June at 2 pm, followed by a national test on Monday 27 July at 2 pm.

More about the tests and rollout of AusAlert will be shared on the VicEmergency page in the coming weeks.

Today we recognised International Firefighters' Day alongside some of our biggest little supporters!

Our crew had the pleasure of visiting two local early learning centres to deliver an interactive fire safety session. The kids learned important fire safety tips, asked plenty of great questions, and even got a close-up look at our fire truck.
