This petition of residents in Victoria draws to the attention of the Legislative Assembly that Neighbourhood Houses funding has failed to keep pace with costs and in real terms is 20% lower than it was in 2010. Funding no longer meets employment costs, leaving Neighbourhood Houses with no funding to keep the lights on. For the past three years, half of all Neighbourhood Houses have recorded a loss.

At Creswick Neighbourhood Centre this issue is close to our hearts. ♥
Please sign online here in the link and if you pop into the Centre, please also sign our paper copy. The two versions will be accepted to different areas of Government.

Thankyou Warren for sharing your story here. What a great interview! As many of you know we do a lot of work here at the CNC in the food space. We have many volunteers who collect, distribute, process and prepare food for members of our community who need it. Sometimes it takes a lot to put your hand up and say you need it. There are lots of reasons why people need it and we don't judge. We love what we do. Let's keep up the good work.

What a night we had on Saturday! A packed Wayapurra Hall for the Choir led fundraising event for the CNC. The food was delicious, the bar well stocked and the performances very fun. More photos and details of the night to come. Thankyou to Julian Opie for these little recorded moments featuring The Creswick Chorus, Stella and Mishael, Archer, One Part Gin, and the Amazing Creswick Ukestra
If anyone got any footage of the Drumming group please send it through and I'll add it in :)

On 1-2 June, 18 people completed Mental Health First Aid Training.

This would not have been possible without the support of the Creswick Readiness Group and Hepburn Shire Council, and the financial contributions from IGA Creswick plus Liquor and Ballarat and District Su***de Awareness Network Inc which enabled the course to be run at no cost to participants.

What a great outcome to have more members of the community feeling more confident to support and identify those struggling with mental health issues and knowing where to seek additional professional help.

This strengthens local communities where people feel supported and cared for, and I think we would all agree this is a good thing!

Well done to those who undertook the two-day training and keep an eye out for the next course which will be in October. Registrations will open in the second half of the year. To express interest please contact the CNC via email [email protected]
