This dog was not chipped so hoping to reunite with it's owner soon.

Public Notice: Payment of Expenses and Provision of Facilities Policy – Exhibition Period is open now

Notice is hereby given that Council, in accordance with Sections 252-253, of the Local Government Act 1993, place on public exhibition the Payment of Expenses and Provision of Facilities Policy.

The public exhibition period commences Monday 22 June 2026 1:00pm, the policy is available for inspection on Council’s website, printed copies may be available on request at Council Administration Offices at Crookwell and Gunning.

Public submissions in writing will be received by Council during the public exhibition period until 4.00pm, on Monday 20 July 2026, and must be addressed to the Chief Executive Officer.

Yesterday Upper Lachlan Shire Council was honoured to host a Citizenship Ceremony during Thursday’s Council meeting, officially welcoming new Australian citizens.

Held during Refugee Week, the ceremony was a special opportunity to celebrate diversity, inclusion and the shared values that bring us together. Taking the Australian Citizenship Pledge marks an important milestone and the beginning of a new chapter for our newest citizens.

Mayor Culhane said “It is a privilege for Council to play a part in such a significant occasion”

📋 Highlights from today’s Upper Lachlan Shire Council Meeting are shared from Mayor Paul Culhane.

Council met on Thursday 18 June and considered a range of matters.

✅ 2026/27 Council Plans Adopted
Council adopted its suite of Integrated Planning and Reporting documents, including the Operational Plan, Delivery Program, Long-Term Financial Plan, Infrastructure Plan and Workforce Plan, providing a roadmap for services and projects over the coming years.

🏡 52-Lot Crookwell Subdivision Approved
Development approval was granted for a proposed 52-lot residential subdivision at the corner of McDonald and Tait Streets, Crookwell.

🤝 Community Funding
Council resolved the successful applicants under the 2026/27 Crookwell II & III, Cullerin Range and Gullen Range Wind Farm Community Fund programs, supporting local projects and community organisations.

🇦🇺 Citizenship Ceremony
Two new Australians were welcomed to the Upper Lachlan during a citizenship ceremony held as part of the meeting, with residents from Germany and Wales officially taking their oath of citizenship.

📑 Council resolved to revert to the previous Code of Meeting Practice following changes to the prescribed NSW Model Code.

Microchipping Your Pet: A small step that makes a big difference

Ensuring your pet is microchipped is one of the most important responsibilities of pet ownership. A microchip provides a permanent form of identification that can help reunite lost pets with their owners quickly and safely.

To help local pet owners meet their responsibilities, Upper Lachlan Shire Council is offering two upcoming microchipping days, the subsidised microchipping services will be made available at:

Subsidised Microchipping: $30.00 ($25.00 for Pensioners)
Bookings are essential and places are limited (50 Limit of 2 per household). Pet owners are encouraged to secure their appointment early to avoid disappointment.

Mayor Culhane travelled to Wagga today as part of the CRJO advocacy group to meet with Minister for Climate change, Energy, Heritage and the Environment Ms Penny Sharpe.

The group included Mayors from neighbouring councils to discuss the benefit sharing guidelines and appropriate compensation for those effected by the Humelink East project.

The Minister and Mayor Culhane were joined by Dr Joe McGirr, Member for NSW Legislative Assembly, Mayor Jasmin Jones of Yass Valley Council, Mayor Julia Ham of Snowy Valley Council, Mayor Dallas Tout, Wagga City Council.
