🚨 A national test of the system is scheduled for 2pm (AEST) on 27 July 2026, following community trials across Australia.

Is your software up to date for AusAlert? 🚨
AusAlert is a new national warning system that uses the latest technology to send emergency messages to compatible mobile devices.
AusAlerts work on many mobile phones, tablets and smartwatches. Devices don’t need a working SIM card.
📱 They are expected to work on:
• iPhones 11 and up running iOS 26.4 or later
• Apple Watch SE2, SE3, Series 6 and up running watchOS 26.4 or later
• Android devices running Android 12 or later.
Older Android phones and phones that don’t use iOS or Android might still receive AusAlerts.
⚠️ Apple iPads won't receive AusAlerts.
On Monday 27 July during the national test, your mobile devices, such as mobile phones, tablets and smart watches, may receive a test alert.
The message will vibrate and include a loud, siren-like sound that lasts about 10 seconds.
Ensure your phone is AusAlert ready.

We are deeply saddened by the tragic incident off Ballina Bar overnight.
Not only for the loss of life from Marine Rescue NSW volunteers, but also the loss of life from the vessel they were responding to.
This is a reminder of what emergency services can face every time they answer a call for help, frequently in the most challenging and dangerous conditions.
We extend our sincere condolences to the families, friends and members of Marine Rescue NSW, as well as all those affected by this tragedy.
Our thoughts are with you all during this difficult time.💙💙
