Meet Knickers: The Giant Cow Too Big to Be Slaughtered

Knickers is a Holstein Friesian cow from Australia who became famous for one surprising reason — she’s simply too big to be processed at a regular slaughterhouse.

She weighs about 3,086 pounds (1.4 tonnes) and stands a towering 6 feet 4 inches tall, which is much larger than most cows of her breed. Because of her massive size, no abattoir could handle her, and she was spared from being sold or slaughtered.

Knickers quickly became an internet sensation, with photos and videos of her towering over other cows going viral. Many people have affectionately called her a “gentle giant,” and she now lives out her days peacefully on a farm in Western Australia.
