Thank you to everyone who supported our Fundraiser at Bunnings on Sunday.

Our volunteers are always working hard and learning new things, to help our unit continue to save lives on the water.

On Sunday, Judy gained her "Square licence" as she volunteered with our unit as she learned to use the square. Square payments are contactless payments and while not difficult, it can take a bit of practice to understand it as the operator.

Congratulations Judy. 😜

Last Monday was a busy one for us!

We had a call from a person onboard a jet boat, on the Shoalhaven River near the . Our skipper and crew responded on our rescue vessel Shoalhaven 20, and were able to tow the boat and its crew safely to Grey's Beach in Nowra.

On the way back to her mooring in Greenwell Point, the skipper and crew were able to enjoy being on the river, capturing some footage of the Comerong Island Ferry as they passed.

Another great outcome for our volunteers, saving lives on the water.

What a great time we had at the Culburra Beach Bowlo on Sunday, joining our community in celebrating the Bowlo's 60th birthday!

Were you and your family there?

Last Monday we were asked by the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) to assist them in the search for an entangled whale south of Kiama.

Our skipper and crew set out onboard our rescue vessel Shoalhaven 30, with five NPWS personnel on board in less than ideal conditions. Unfortunately as the conditions worsened, we returned to base without having located the whale.

While Marine Rescue Shoalhaven has a mandate of saving human lives at sea, occaisonally when volunteers and resources are available we are able to assist other organisations, in this case the NPWS, search for injured wildlife.
