Today marks the official end of the Bush Fire Danger Period as we move into the cooler months ahead.
However, it certainly wasn’t a quiet finish for our crews.
The brigade responded to two incidents today. The first was a pile of timber alight at Crookhaven Heads, where we were assisted by our neighbours from Callala Bay.
Later in the afternoon, crews were called to a bushfire at Beecroft Headland, Currarong. A strong response saw brigades from Currarong, Callala Beach, Callala Bay, Falls Creek, Greenwell Point, Shoalhaven Heads, West Nowra, Vincentia, along with the NSW RFS – Shoalhaven Operational Support Brigade, all working together to quickly contain the fire and prevent further spread.
A great example of teamwork and coordination across the district.
Well done to all crews involved 👏
