❤️ Happy Father’s Day! ❤️

Wishing a very Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers, grandfathers and father figures out there today.

A special thank you to the dads in our brigade who sometimes put family life on hold to volunteer their time and help protect and support our local community. We know the commitment, sacrifice and time away from family doesn’t go unnoticed. 🚒❤️

We hope everyone has a fantastic Sunday filled with plenty of laughs, good times and time with the ones who matter most.

Stay safe this Bush Fire Danger Period and look after each other. 🔥

Happy Father’s Day from all of us!

Get bush fire ready this September, with thanks to the Shoalhaven City Council!
With the Bush Fire Danger Period starting on Tuesday 1 September, now is the perfect time to start preparing your home and property for the upcoming bush fire season.

Shoalhaven Council are offering FREE green waste disposal at all Council recycling and waste depots throughout September to help residents prepare! It’s a great opportunity to clear excess vegetation and reduce the fuel around your home and it’s completely free!

But preparing for bush fire season is about more than just clearing your yard. Come and visit us at our station open day and annual Get ready Weekend event.
📅 Sunday 20 September
⏰ 10am – 2pm

Preparation is the first defence to protect your property against bushfire.

Keep your home clear of debris by removing overhanging branches, cleaning gutters and keeping grass low.

We're helping Shoalhaven residents get ready by offering no-charge green fire-reduction waste disposal at all Council recycling and waste depots in September only.

Last night our crew was called to assist at the Beecroft Weapons Range after a fire broke out near Honeymoon Bay.
Crews worked for many hours in challenging terrain to slow the spread and reduce the immediate impact risk. The fire activity has significantly reduced due to firefighters working hard into the night, however still requires more work due to its remote location. Crews from the range will continue patrolling and monitoring the area today to ensure any flare ups are managed quickly.

As we move closer to the beginning of the bush fire danger period, please stay alert. If you see any unattended fire, call 000 immediately.

Scenario training day for our Culburra crew - practising a bushfire response with fallen trees blocking the trail.

This training exercise combined two challenges at once: managing a fast‑moving bushfire scenario while safely clearing a tree across the track. These multitasking drills help our volunteers stay sharp, coordinated, and ready for real‑world conditions.

Our brigade trains like this to make sure we can respond quickly, work safely, and support our community when it matters most.
Huge effort from everyone involved 👏

Today, members from Culburra Beach Rural Fire Brigade joined fellow brigades from across the local area for the annual Beecroft Weapons Range and Peninsula familiarisation and training day.

The day provided a valuable opportunity to increase our understanding of the unique buildings, infrastructure and bushland within the impact zone, helping ensure our members are well prepared should an incident occur in this challenging environment.

A huge thank you to Currarong Rural Fire Brigade for organising this fantastic annual event, and to the dedicated Staff, Rangers and Contractors who generously shared their local knowledge and experience. Your insights are invaluable and greatly appreciated by everyone involved.

Training like this strengthens our skills, builds strong relationships between neighbouring brigades, and ensures we’re ready to respond safely and effectively when our communities need us most.

🚒 Thank you to everyone who made the day such a success!
