Happy International Firefighters Day πŸ”₯

From battling bushfires to protecting homes, responding to emergencies, and supporting our neighbours when it matters most, our volunteers stand ready 24/7.

Thank you to every firefighter, past and present, who puts service before self.

If you see one of our volunteers today, give them a wave or a thank you. It means more than you know. ❀️

It was a 4AM start for Gin Gin Rural Fire Brigade this ANZAC Day, as our crew headed down to the RSL to lend a hand.

Volunteers spent the morning serving drinks and supporting the community as we came together to honour those who served.

Proud to play our part on this special day of remembrance.
Lest we forget. 🌺

Effective today, Gin Gin Rural Fire Brigade is launching a brand-new emergency response team: Firefighting Goats! πŸπŸš’

These highly trained, four-legged firefighters will be deployed to remote overgrown areas to eat away vegetation and establish fire breaks!

We're still working on getting them to wear helmets and operate hoses, but rest assured, they're already experts at climbing on the trucks and eating paperwork.

Stay safe, and rememberβ€”if you see a goat in uniform, it’s on duty!

While TC Alfred continues to lurk off the Queensland coast, we can’t turn our attention away from other risks.

Some areas of the state are experiencing dry conditions which has resulted in some fire activity, particularly in grasslands.

Heightened fire danger is expected over the coming days, so it’s important if you’re planning to conduct any permitted burns you check local conditions prior to lighting up. πŸ”₯
