Dampier Mission to Seafarers

Dampier Mission to Seafarers We offer practical, emotional and spiritual support and welcome all crews visiting the Dampier Ports to our mission centre.

Our kindness shown comes from the kindness that God has shown us in and through his son Jesus (John 3:16).

Big news at Mission to Seafarers Dampier β€” we've got a brand new massage chair and it's already a hit!

After weeks at sea, our seafarers deserve some proper rest β€” and now they can kick back and enjoy a relaxing massage right here at the centre.

Pictured: Chaplain Steve giving the chair a thorough test run β€” someone's got to do it! πŸ˜„

A massive THANK YOU to Woodside North West (Woodside Community Grants) for making this happen. Your generosity makes such a real difference to the crew members who visit us!

Introducing our brand new pool table β€” and yes, it's decked out in MTS colours! Whether you're a pool shark or a total beginner, come on in and have a game!

A huge shoutout and thanks to the Australian Mariners Welfare Society for their incredible generosity in funding this amazing improvement to our recreation space. You've given our crew something truly special to enjoy during their time ashore.

And a big thank you to for supplying the table β€” the quality speaks for itself and we couldn't be happier with how it turned out!

Pictured: The table taking shape during construction, and Chaplain Steve wasting no time getting a game going β€” we have a feeling this table is going to get a LOT of use!
Come in, rack 'em up and enjoy!

There were a few extra tweaks needed to come up with this one.

We are very thankful for the work of people like Jason advocating globally for seafarers on this very important issue.

Industry partnerships are vital to ensuring seafarers continue to receive the care and support they need while away from home.
Welfare is a team effort.

Seafarers are often at sea for long periods of time before berthing at our Burrup assets, so when they arrive, a warm welcome matters.

Our Port Operations team work closely with Dampier Mission to Seafarers to support positive health and welfare outcomes for crews arriving in the Pilbara on board LNG vessels. In the past year, shore leave from Woodside berths has grown from just nine people in 2024 to more than 200 in 2025, a big change with a big impact on wellbeing.

For the past five years Woodside volunteers have assembled Christmas hampers for seafarers; last year 1,300 packs were distributed over the festive period across 200 ships across Karratha and Onslow, including at Woodside assets.

Nearly 400 cadet packs distributed in 2025 - each one a small gesture with a powerful message: no matter how far from shore, you are not alone.
Thank you to all who helped us reach seafarers at the start of their journey - we are ready with more packs for 2026!

2025: A year of shore leave, shared stories, and seafaring friendships! Thank you to all the seafarers for your service.
