๐ŸšŒ Learning through experience is an important step in building a confident local workforce.

Last Friday, participants in the Larrakia Cultural Centre Launch into Work initiative took part in a cultural excursion to Crocosaurus Cove Darwin, where they explored the stories behind the Northern Territory's iconic wildlife and experienced how engaging visitor experiences are delivered.

The excursion forms part of the three-week intensive training program preparing participants for employment at the Larrakia Cultural Centre, opening in August 2026. Through practical, hands-on learning, participants are building the knowledge, confidence and customer service skills needed for roles in tourism, hospitality, retail and cultural hosting.

A special thank you to the Crocosaurus Cove team and the Larrakia Cultural Centreral Centre representatives, Valentin Corchado, Emma Nesbitt and Joe Raymond for supporting the day and sharing their expertise. The enthusiasm and engagement shown by participants made the excursion a fantastic success, with many leavings inspired and excited to apply their new knowledge in welcoming future visitors to the Larrakia Cultural Centre.
