Darwin Street Art Festival The Darwin Street Art Festival will return 22 May - 5 June 2026 - explore the art year round!

Darwin Street Art Festival is a mural festival that has been running every year since 2017 in Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia. Be sure to like this page for all further line-up and festival news and info. The Darwin Street Art Festival is made possible through support of the Northern Territory Government. A big thank you also to the building owners and local business who share our vision and passion for the City, as it’s through their involvement that the murals will come to life.

DARWIN GLOW-UPS ❤️‍🔥
After the completion of the 2026 festival, there are now 167 murals across 19 suburbs in Darwin, and this year we expanded the clusters of murals that you can explore on foot - creating 3 new art precincts across the city!

Changing the face of our city in this way would not have been possible without the support of and funding from Tourism and Events NT - we're so proud that local and visiting artists have been adding a bit more colour and stories to the walls of our Darwin home for ten years now - and we are so grateful to the Northern Territory Government for continuing to invest in local creativity and community.

OFF CUTS ✔️ We are pleased to announce that with your support, the three charities we supported through the OFF CUTS exhibition (with Qubit Gallery as part of this year's DSAF program) have each received $3000 ❤️‍🔥

1. Rite 2 Rise - a FN led youth program focusing on outdoor health, mentoring and access to flexible education/employment pathways

2. Aunties Place - a FN led Grassroots Youth Engagement and Employment Program supporting disadvantaged youth in Palmerston

3. The Shak Youth Hub - a safe inclusive space for young people to connect, have a hot meal and participate in activities

Rhenz x Jason Lee for DSAF2026

The figures in this mural are significant in both Darwin’s history and the artists’ heritage; Billiamook - an important figure in the early contact history of Darwin and the Larrakia people, and Antonio Pedro Cubillo - a Filipino man who helped build the rich multicultural and Indigenous heritage that defines modern Darwin.

This collaboration between two incredible local artists has completely changed the entrance into Charles Darwin University Casuarina Campus 👏

Ris Esme for DSAF2026 💜

Created for the Charles Darwin University Casuarina Campus bus stop on Orange 1, as part of the new CDU art trail - this mural responds directly to its environment through the use of vibrant orange tones and complementary colours.

“I wanted the work to bring a sense of energy, warmth and joy to a space that many people move through every day.

My creative process often begins with colour. From there, I explore pattern, rhythm and the relationships that emerge between shapes, lines and spaces. I’m interested in how colours interact with one another, how patterns create movement, and how the spaces between elements become just as important as the elements themselves.

Rather than telling a single story, this mural invites viewers to find their own meanings and connections. The forms can be interpreted in many ways, allowing each person to bring their own experiences, memories and imagination to the work. For me, the mural is a celebration of colour, pattern, place and the different ways we see and make meaning in the world.”
