An exciting opportunity for a lunchtime swim squad from our friends over at Parap Pool!

We're testing the waters for a Lunchtime Swim Squad at Parap Pool! 🏊‍♀️

Whether you're keen to build fitness, improve your technique, or just enjoy a refreshing break in the middle of the day, this could be a great way to dive in.

We'll be asking about your preferred days (Monday, Wednesday or Friday) and time slots (like 12:00 - 1:00 PM or 12:30 - 1:30 PM) to shape a squad that works for everyone.

If you're keen, submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) today! Your input will help us create the perfect lunchtime swim squad for you! 💡

Splash into aqua aerobics!

Due to pool bookings at Parap Pool, alongside our 8am Wednesday Aqua Aerobics session, we will holding two more sessions - 9am Wednesday August 5th and 9am Friday August 7th.

Today is International Lifeguard Appreciation Day!

Today we’re celebrating the dedicated lifeguards at Casuarina Aquatic and Leisure Centre who work tirelessly to keep swimmers safe and create a welcoming space for our community to enjoy.

Your vigilance, professionalism, and care make every visit to the pool safer and better for everyone.

🚨 CAALC Pool Availability Update – Monday 27 July 🚨

It’s a busy week at Casuarina Aquatic & Leisure Centre (CAALC) as we accommodate Parap Pool bookings and programs during the 25m pool maintenance closure.

Please note that the CAALC 25m pool will be fully booked on Monday 27 July between 9:00am and 11:30am.

🏊 The 50m pool will remain available for lap swimming during this time.

We appreciate your patience and understanding and encourage lap swimmers to make use of the 50m pool while programs are underway.

Thank you for your cooperation as we continue to provide uninterrupted services for our community. 💙

🌊 Aqua Aerobics is making a splash at CAALC this week! 🌊

With the Parap Pool 25m pool temporarily closed, all Aqua Aerobics classes will be relocating to CAALC to keep you moving and make sure no one misses their workout!

📅 This Week's Class Schedule
✅ Monday – 9:00am
✅ Tuesday – 9:00am
✅ Wednesday – 8:00am (NEW permanent CAALC class!) & 9:00am
✅ Thursday – 9:00am

⏱️ All classes run for 45 minutes.
💲 Prices - Adults: $12.50 - Concession: $7.50

Whether you're a regular or looking to give Aqua Aerobics a go, we'd love to see you at CAALC this week. Come along, stay active, and enjoy a fun, low-impact workout in the water! 💦🏊‍♀️

💙 World Drowning Prevention Day 💙

At The Y NT, we're proud to help our community build confidence and safety skills in and around the water. While our pools are supervised and controlled environments, water safety is just as important beyond the pool gate.

This World Drowning Prevention Day, we're reminding everyone to stay vigilant around all waterways—whether you're at the beach, a waterhole, creek, dam or out on a boat.

💦 Supervise children at all times around water
💦 Learn swimming and water safety skills
💦 Wear a lifejacket when boating
💦 Learn CPR and be prepared for emergencies

Drowning is preventable, and every one of us has a role to play in keeping our families, friends and community safe.

City of Darwin is proud to announce a 6 month trial of our new on-demand Auslan interpreting service, Convo Access.

We're making it easier for Deaf and hard-of-hearing community members to connect with City of Darwin.

A QR Code allows direct connection with a qualified Auslan interpreter via video on your device 24/7!
