The Delacombe Primary School Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Team would like to give a huge shout out to the Sebastopol and District Lions Club for all their efforts with the resurfacing of some paths in our garden. Not only did the club donate the gravel, their members helped with carting and spreading it, and hiring a packer to compact it down. We were also very fortunate to have the guidance and expertise of Daniel Porter, who is not only a dad of one of our students, but a landscape gardener. He has played an integral part in the planning and carrying out of the project.
Following on from this task the Baha’i community and members of our school community then helped with the never ending job of weeding.
We are so fortunate to have such amazing support. So a huge THANK YOU!!!

Sargeant Sensible was at DPS today to welcome students for Walk to School Day.

It was fantastic to see so many students fist bumping and high fiving Police Officers, helping to build positive relationships and a sense of safety with Police. Opportunities like this are so important in supporting children to recognise Police as safe, trusted adults in our community who are there to help and protect them.

Thank you to Sargeant Sensible and our local Police Officers for helping make the morning such a positive and engaging experience for our students.

The Grade 6 students have started fundraising for their graduation. They are running a competition to guess how many M&M's are in this giant jar. The person that guesses the exact amount or closest to the total will win the whole jar!

Guesses are $1 and you can have as many guesses as you have dollars. The winner will be announced Friday afternoon at assembly where the winner will take home their prize.

The Grade 6 students will be set up near the deck ready for you to make your guesses. Good luck!

Dear Families,

This Friday, 22 May 2026, we will be celebrating National Walk Safely to School Day and encouraging our students and families to walk safely to school where possible.

This annual Australian initiative encourages primary school students and families to build active, healthy habits by walking or wheeling to and from school, while also promoting important road safety awareness.

Families can participate in a number of ways:
• The Full Walk – walk the entire distance to school with your children
• Park & Walk – if you live too far away, park a few blocks from school and walk the remaining distance together

Walking to school is a wonderful way to promote healthy habits, independence, community connection, and safe road practices. It also helps students begin the school day feeling active, regulated, and ready to learn.

We are excited to share that members of Victoria Police will be joining us on the morning. Officers will be positioned at the crossing on the main road, as well as at the front gate, to help safely welcome students to school and support important conversations around pedestrian and road safety.

We encourage all families to take this opportunity to talk with their children about safe walking practices, including using crossings, stopping and looking before crossing roads, and staying aware of their surroundings.

We look forward to seeing many students walking safely to school on Friday!

Congratulations to our very own Grace and Dash whose imaginative artworks are proudly on display at Ballarat Base Hospital!

To celebrate progress on the hospital’s redevelopment, 15 young budding artists recently put their vision and creativity to work, drawing up their hospital of the future.

Grace and Dash’s artworks were selected from hundreds of entries across regional Victoria and along with their fellow winners, were recently guests of honour at the exhibition launch, where they met Julianna Addison MP and key stakeholders from the building redevelopment working party.

Congratulations Grace and Dash, we are extremely proud of you!
