It is such a difficult time for family and friends who cannot attend funerals at the moment. An excellent idea in this blog, and also possible for families/friends to get together on Zoom or similar to hold a shared ceremony in honour of their loved one.

A thoughtful personal letter, with or without a sympathy card is always welcome especially when it has lovely recollections of the deceased. A tree, rose or pot plant are often appreciated in lieu of flowers as they last longer. In many cases there will be the opportunity to donate to the family's choice of charity in memory of the deceased and knowing that has been done gives comfort.

What do you send to a grieving family when they specifically ask for no flowers?
