Reconciliation Week 2026 – The Shire is All In!
What an incredible turnout at our Reconciliation Walk at the Derby Jetty! ❤️💛 🖤

As part of National Reconciliation Week (27 May to 3 June 2026), this year’s theme “All In” reminds us that reconciliation isn’t a passive activity, it’s something we all take part in, together.

A big thank you to everyone who came along, showing their support and commitment to meaningful change.

This event was made possible by Rio Tinto ’s Community Giving Program, our wonderful community organisations and stall holders, and the Derby/West Kimberley community for being truly All In. 🙌 We’d also like to give a special thank you to Rowena Mouda for sharing such a powerful and moving speech with us.

🚧Road closure for Reconciliation Walk at Derby Jetty🚧

Due to the anticipated increase in pedestrian traffic around the Jetty area, a partial closure of the parking facilities nearest to the Jetty will be in place for the duration of the event. Attendees will need to allow additional time for parking and walking to the event and please follow all signage and event marshalls.

We have some cool news for Derby!
The Derby Civic Centre is set to benefit from important infrastructure improvements, thanks to a Lotterywest grant announced today.

We’re delivering:
❄️ Air-conditioning
🏗️ Roof replacement
🔧 Targeted building maintenance.

These improvements will make the Civic Centre cooler, safer, and more accessible for everyone in our community.

Today, Divina D’Anna - Member for Kimberley, presented the official grant certificate to the Shire of Derby/West Kimberley, marking the formal commencement of the project and reinforcing the commitment to improved community infrastructure within the Shire.

Construction is expected to begin in late 2026 and every effort will be made to minimise disruption to building users with updates to be shared along the way.

A huge thank you to Lotterywest for its continued support in creating lasting, positive change in the Shire of Derby/West Kimberley.
