For the month of September the students and staff will be working on the value and expectation, "We show Respect in the learning space when we allow others to teach and learn."
Our whole school minor behaviour data showed this as a need across our school.
When your children come home, ask them if they have received a point from our PBIS point system for showing Respect. Remember that our whole school shop opens every Monday and Wednesday from 3.15 - 3.30pm. Items regularly change where we receive new things all the time. Remember to stop by together after school 🙂

🎨 Our Year 5 artists have been busy bringing Cubism to life through wire sculpture! 🧑‍🎨✨

Students began by planning their sculptures using labelled diagrams, identifying the shapes, features and materials they would need. 📝🔷

They then transformed their 2D plans into 3D artworks using wire, learning how to bend, twist, join and shape it to create their designs. 🌀🔗

🔧 An exciting part of the process was learning to use pliers safely for the first time! 👏😊

Winston has already brought so much joy, comfort and calm to our DPS community, and we’re incredibly proud to see his special role officially recognised by Therapy Animals Australia . 🐶✨

⚾ Calling all young baseball stars! 🌟

Sunshine Baseball Club is getting ready for the 2026–2027 Summer Baseball Season, kicking off in early October! ☀️⚾

They’re inviting local students aged 5–18 to join their T-Ball and Junior Baseball teams — and no previous experience is needed! 🙌

Established in 1938, Sunshine Baseball Club is a friendly, family-focused club where players can:

⚾ Learn new skills
💪 Build confidence
🤝 Make new friends
🏃 Stay active
😊 Have plenty of fun!

Parents and carers are also welcome to get involved, with men’s and women’s programs available. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

It’s a fantastic opportunity for students to get active, try something new and develop a love of baseball! ❤️⚾

🌱🔬 Science Week 2026 – Seeds of Science: Nurturing knowledge for all 🔬🌱

This Science Week, our students are getting hands-on with science by exploring the incredible journey of a tiny seed! 🌱

Students have created their own seed-growing bag, carefully setting up their experiment and thinking about what might happen. They have drawn what their seed bag currently looks like, and will over the coming weeks, watch, observe and document the changes as their seeds begin to grow. 🌿👀

Through this simple experiment, students are developing their curiosity, asking questions, making observations and discovering how science helps us understand the world around us.
