Click on link below to see a short video - Children gain the most from sharing books with an adult when they’re actively involved – when book time becomes a back-and-forth conversation. https://bit.ly/4f2dHMe

What does this mean? It means you’re not just reading to your child; you’re reading with them. When this happens, your child does a lot more than listening as you read – they point out and share things of interest to them and this turns into a conversation.

Read our article to learn more https://bit.ly/3PCbYTd https://bit.ly/4f2dHMe

We’ve just released a short video showing what the Turn Book Reading into a Conversation strategies look like in practice. Sometimes seeing it is the thing that makes it click. https://bit.ly/4f2dHMe

Something we made for the families you work with — free to download and pass along.

Turn Book Reading into a Conversation is a one-page handout walking parents through five strategies from the It Takes Two to Talk® approach: https://bit.ly/4drT1Mg

Both are designed to be shared. Forward to a family, include in a session follow-up, post in a parent communication channel — whatever works in your setting.

Using these strategies with the support and guidance of a Hanen Certified Speech-Language Pathologist will have the greatest impact. The handout is a starting point. You’re the reason it works.
