A huge thank you to the community members who came along to celebrate this important milestone with us, as well as the Hon Sandra Carr MLC, representing the Minister for Regional Development, the Hon Stephen Dawson MLC, the Chair of the Mid West Development Commission, Lara Dalton and CEO Nils Hays, and the team from the Department of Transport.

We’d also like to thank everyone who helped bring this project to life, our contractors, Shire staff, Port Denison Volunteer Sea Search & Rescue, the WA Government, who provided funding through the Recreational Boating Facilities Scheme and the Small Grants Program.

Happy boating everyone! 🚤🌞🎣

📣 Have your say on the future of the Shire of Irwin

As part of our Strategic Community Planning, we’re now conducting phone surveys to hear directly from our community about what matters most to you and what you’d like to see for the future of the Shire.

📞 Want to take part? Simply contact Shire Reception by phone 9927 0000 or email [email protected] and we’ll add you to the list.

⏰ Registrations close Friday, 4 September.

The phone surveys will continue until we have received enough responses to provide a statistically valid and representative sample of the diverse views across our community.

Your voice matters and your feedback will help shape the priorities and direction of the Shire into the future.

Thanks to the Dongara Denison Lions Club Inc, the Lions Beacon of Light Mind Health Van will be visiting our community to provide a safe, welcoming space for people who may be doing it tough and simply need someone to talk to.

Sometimes, a 10-minute conversation can make a difference. The mobile service connects people with trained volunteers and mental health professionals, providing an opportunity to talk, feel heard and find support.

📅 Friday, 4 September
⏰ From 1.00pm onwards
📍 The Big Yellow Shed, Moreton Terrace, Dongara

You don’t need to have all the answers, and you don’t need to wait until things become overwhelming. Come along, have a chat and know that you’re not alone.
