🌿 THE MANJIMUP FARMERS MARKET COLLECTIVE IS COMING! 🍎🥕🥖

We’re excited to announce that the Manjimup Farmers Market Collective officially launches on Sunday, 20 September 2026! 🎉

📅 Sunday 20 September – then every fortnight
⏰ 8am–12pm
📍 The Roundhouse, Manjimup Heritage Park - 151 Giblett Street, Manjimup

Come along and spend your Sunday morning celebrating the incredible growers, producers, makers and food of the Southern Forests.

🥕 Fresh seasonal produce
🍯 Gourmet & locally made foods
🛍️ Artisan products
👩‍🌾 Meet the growers, producers & makers
🎶 Live music from the Manjimup Music Makers
😊 Kids activities to keep the little ones entertained
💚 And plenty of good old-fashioned community atmosphere!

The Collective is about more than shopping. It’s about knowing where your food comes from, meeting the people behind it and supporting the businesses that make our region so special.
For our inaugural market on 20 September, you’ll find us inside the Roundhouse at the beautiful Manjimup Heritage Park – so come rain or shine, we’ll be ready to welcome you!

As the markets continue fortnightly, we’ll make the most of our fantastic Heritage Park location:

☀️ Fine weather: Find us on the beautiful grassed area in front of the Sound Shell.
🌧️ Wet weather: We’ll head undercover into the Roundhouse – so the market can go on!

Our aim is simple: fresh local food, real connections and a vibrant fortnightly gathering in the heart of Manjimup.

💚 Real Food. Real People. A Stronger Region.

Mark 20 September in your calendar, bring the family, grab your market bags and help us make our very first Manjimup Farmers Market Collective a fantastic one!

Brought to you by the Manjimup Visitor Centre.

We spent a few hours in the museum on Saturday and it was good to catch up with Jo Fontanini, Lyn (Ellis) and Ken Farr. Lyn put some more names to people in photos and brought us this copy of a photo from the Warren Blackwood Times 20 April 1977 when she and Raymond Hamilton were presented with Safety Awards (excuse the AI version of the description under the photo) .

Ian Wilson came out to help with our Accessioning Project too.

Thanks everyone for visiting us - we will be back in early November. You can visit the Museum every day - ask for the key at the General Store.

A few weeks to get your heritage stories sorted if you want to share them with the sector. Must have been listening to us, Ian Wilson!

📣Call for presenters | 2027 State Heritage Conference

We're looking for presenters for the 2027 State Heritage Conference and want to hear from heritage professionals, researchers, community leaders, students and young professionals who are passionate heritage advocates from across the state.

Our conference theme this year – Heritage Horizons: Exploring heritage above, below and beyond, encourages us to look beyond traditional understandings of heritage and explore the many layers that shape our places, landscapes and communities.

📅Held over two days on 3-4 May 2027 at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, the conference will bring together people from across the heritage sector to share knowledge, exchange ideas and inspire new conversations.

Whether you're uncovering hidden histories, leading innovative projects or shaping the future of heritage practice, this is your opportunity to share your experience with a statewide audience.

Expressions of Interest are now open and close 30 November 2026 – find out more and apply ➡️www.wa.gov.au/state-heritage-conference

We are on the look out for some positions, one being the Secretary Role

✍️The Secretary role for Warren Districts Agricultural Society is a very important one which must be filled for the show to continue and can be tailored to suit what time and skills you’re able to offer. The role at a minimum focuses on the key tasks of meeting agendas and minutes, managing emails and correspondence. Meetings are every second Monday of the month, with the lead up to the show in January and February twice a month. A paid honorarium role can also be discussed on the level of work load you are prepared to take on. Seem daunting? Not to worry you will have our outgoing Secretary assisting you!

Pavilion Section Stewards
We are on the search for Pavilion Stewards to help run and promote each area. It’s not mandatory to attend meetings or even be on the committee. What we do need from you is communication and promotion of the section, stewarding judging at the show, set up of your section and helping the chief steward the week of the show and on showday. If you are passionate and have ideas for any of the following areas let us know. An area not currently there also let us know. We’d love to grow what we already have and also grow some new sections.

🍒Fruit & Vegetables
🌻Flowers/plants
🎃Giant Vegetables
🥚Produce (eggs, honey, oil, amateur brewing)
🎂Cooking
🍋Twin Lakes Lemon challenge
🫙Preserves
🥓Italian sausages
🪵Industrial art
👧👦Children’s section
🎨Children’s art

We are also on the search for Grounds-people to help assist with the set up and pack down the week of the show. Again you Dont need to be on the committee or even attend meetings but we expect you to be available the week of the show especially Friday - Sunday to help with set up and pack down

Lastly an Entertainment Co-Ordinator. We are looking for someone that can liase with Entertainment options and managing entertainment on the day. Being on the committee is again not monitory but regular attendance at meetings or regular reporting of progress of all things entertainment.

This week's Donnelly Mill memory! The sawdust conveyor system that transported sawdust to the furnace doors. It was dismantled by DPLH in recent years as a safety hazard. Thanks to Michael Pez for the outside photo.
